We have to stop
\nand think
\nthe meat we order and we eat
\nwas a living breathing thinking caring
\nsoul
\nwhich does unseat
\nso many
\nwho now witness, the torture and the death
\nthe evil and the resentment
\nand how we deny them breath<\/p>\n
the killing fields are all around us
\neverywhere we go
\nthe restaurants we pass by each day
\nthe hotels so much woe
\nexists before our eyes if we would only use them well
\ninstead we walk about half blind
\nand those souls consign to hell<\/p>\n
they themselves are innocent
\nlife for them is sure
\nits paramount its what they need
\nits what they are living for
\ncreation gave that actual spark to them too
\nand what we
\ndo is decide to end there’s
\nwith our vile complacency<\/p>\n
we have eyes and we have ears
\nand we have hearts
\nbut what we do
\nis sit down on our asses
\nand read the long menu
\nknowing in our very soul
\nthat to order any meat
\nwill mean another has to die
\nand others will mistreat<\/p>\n
them for profit hurls itself
\ninto the corporate pot
\neveryone is out for money
\nevery sectors got
\na wish to so compete
\nand by so doing multiply
\nthe numbers of farm animals
\nwho therefore have to die<\/p>\n
they are young and healthy
\nno sickness in their soul
\nwe are the sickly specimens
\nand the assassins role
\nfalls squarely on our shoulders
\nbut we resent that and
\nwe allocate procedures
\nand it therefore leaves our hand
\nand someone else takes charge of it
\nbehind closed doors where we
\ncan carry on our ignorant lives
\nin perpetuity<\/p>\n
and those creatures great and small
\nwe sang about those years
\nall things bright and beautiful
\nwho shared the same dark fears
\nnow locked behind the great steel door
\nwe are where the sun shines
\nthey are in the dark
\nin some awful slaughterhouse
\nor waiting in strict lines<\/p>\n
we are out of tune
\nwith what is true reality
\nwe are numbed beyond belief
\nand so depravity
\nclouds our true perception
\nits lost in all that woe
\nin all that blood and mayhem
\nand the clamour that does grow<\/p>\n
the need for corporate profit
\nat the expense of those
\nwho have become commodities
\nnot something that they chose
\nthey were and are sweet entities
\nwith thoughts to love and care
\nbut have entered the corporate
\nmind set
\nwhich leads onto despair<\/p>\n
there is no valley deep enough
\nto hide in once they are there
\nfor they are doomed to violent death
\nand torture which we share
\nwe sit back on our laurels
\nwe listen to those who
\nare torturing and earning
\nfrom the perceived ones
\nwho we screw<\/p>\n
and screw we do, we hurt them
\nwe make them suffer so
\nwhether its somebody elses pet
\nor farm animals we know
\nwhether its a horse
\nthat grazes on some common ground
\nor a snake that slides and slithers
\nalmost without a sound<\/p>\n
for us we order meat
\nwe need meat to give us power
\nthe strength we go to many a length
\nwe do so on the hour
\nwe torture and we murder
\nin the name of those we need
\nto see the back of when it suits
\nand then we watch them bleed<\/p>\n
we know they suffer terribly
\nwe’ve seen and heard their cries
\nno animals that have life
\nif healthy ever dies
\nunless we pull the chain on them
\nunless we give the nod
\nunless we order meat to eat
\nwhen they then meet their god<\/p>\n
and somehow we can overcome that torment
\nwe arranged
\nthe animal earthling suffers
\nas we are more deranged
\nas we are blocked inside ourselves with the fear
\nthey took into
\nthe slaughterhouse
\nthe adrenaline and the combined sin
\non view<\/p>\n
it was there as well we knew it
\nall that blood and gore
\nthat a short time before was a living soul
\nwondering what for
\nwhy they had to be transported
\nlike sardines in some can
\nwhy they had to be so tortured
\nby the so called higher man<\/p>\n
higher thats debatable
\nlaughable in many ways
\nhow cruel man un kind has become
\nhe still cries when he pays
\nbut most of the time
\nthe earthlings are paying through the nose
\nanal electrocution
\nand the the threats thrust into
\nprose<\/p>\n
some will use their hands to close
\noff the reality
\nsome will cover their ears
\nthe cries then cannot be
\nheard above the clamour
\nof those victims on the chains
\nbeaten slashed and their brains bashed
\nfor our ill gotten gains<\/p>\n
we have to wake up and be counted
\nwe have to see those who
\ngo before us to the house of slaughter
\nand who do
\nour penance as we look away
\nand ignorantly smile
\ntelling ourselves we need their flesh
\nhowever fucking vile <\/p>\n
it is or seems to be our only course of
\naction now
\nwe’ve been so brainwashed by the meat trade
\nwho profit from the how
\nwho orchestrate the killings
\nthe maiming’s and the pain
\nbecause they are so selfish and so greedy
\nand they drain<\/p>\n
everything we had possessed
\nwithin us that was good
\nour understanding of what’s right
\nand really what we should
\nbe doing for the animals
\nand our dietary needs
\ntill the corporate monsters
\ntook control
\nand all of this then feeds
\ninto what is the melting pot
\nthe gruel is bubbling hot
\nwhere all of us then suffer
\nas our souls then have been shot<\/p>\n
away from true humility
\nof loving and of care
\nwe saw the cows in pastures green
\nbut now such sights are rare
\nincarceration in the concentration camps
\nwhere woe
\nis seen as very normal
\nits the way it has to go<\/p>\n
but now its gone too bloody far
\ntorture is their thing
\nand everyone is suffering
\nyou can hear that rumbling
\nanimals are slaughtered
\nin their millions everyday
\nto feed the growing sicko’s
\nthat with their bodies pay<\/p>\n
the methane rises into
\nthe clouds and onwards to
\nthe ozone layer climates
\nare taking quite a screw
\nour rivers are polluted
\nthe soil itself is stripped
\ndie off now is everywhere
\nmortality has ripped<\/p>\n
great holes in humanity
\nsickness clouds those who
\npartake of all this murder
\nas the clueless mostly do
\nthey have joined the great meat eating
\nclan
\nand bought into what they do
\nthemselves up to such scrutiny
\nfrom diseases that accrue<\/p>\n
vast clouds of viral frighteners
\ndescend on us and we
\nhear the propaganda
\nand rapidly we be
\nfearful of outpourings
\nwe’re under the thumb of those
\nwho would see as mere fodder
\nand those numbers it seems grows<\/p>\n
larger by the second
\nmore and more now die
\nthe poor see grains fed to the animal earthlings
\nwho rely
\non so much of those precious yields
\nwhich were destined for the poor
\nwho starve now in their millions
\nwhilst the animals eat more<\/p>\n
we have to wake up
\nall of us
\nwe have to see those signs
\nwe have to hear those cries abroad
\nand wander down the lines
\nthe killing fields are everywhere
\nthe graves of those who die
\nare within our own bodies
