\npassing the time
\na pigeon on the roof
\ndoes mime
\nanother with a cooing call
\nflies away
\nthen begins to fall
\nover the tranquil
\nidyll, all
\nset in rolling countryside
\nwhere centuries ago
\nthe Romans ventured to this
\nplace
\nto the trees beyond that grow<\/p>\n
sentinels, their spirits
\nof every shade of green
\ndecorate with gentleness
\nthe everchanging scene
\nRosemary, Sage and Lemon Balm
\nand Lavender forever calm
\na rhapsody of purple haze
\nwith a fragrance
\nthat stays for days
\nin ones head
\nand in one’s heart
\nas the muse may soon depart
\na holly hock its blossoms shy
\npeep out at me
\nand I wonder why
\nthe honey suckle’s sweet refrain
\nis setting forth to bloom again
\nblack painted woodwork
\nand cobbles white
\na good stout door
\nan aura bright
\na nest hangs fast
\nand resident
\na robin family
\nheaven sent
\ntirelessly they work
\naway collecting
\nin their funny way
\ncurious as to why I be
