What seems to have escaped
\nthe general public’s gaze
\nfor me
\nis the corporate stampede
\ngoing on which clearly most
\ndon’t see
\nthe huge display of cruelty
\non a scale one deems to feel
\nwhen these concentrated animals feed
\noperatives are real<\/p>\n
vast prison camps where animals are hooked
\nup to the scheme
\nraised for a short period
\nand then shackled
\nas they scream
\ntheir hearts
\nin that moment when
\nclearly most must be
\naware of their
\nimpending deaths
\nin great clouds of misery<\/p>\n
surely we as human souls
\nmust see this now as wrong
\nwe have to have respect for life
\nin us that power is strong
\nto be so unforgiving of another
\nseems to me
\nto not grant them a fitting end
\nto a short stay
\ntragically<\/p>\n
creates in them such awful fear
\nthere really is no way
\nthat any soul should die like this
\nin their millions every day
\nto satisfy the blood lust
\nof so many who would pay
\nthe piper for the pleasure
\nso the violence has to stay<\/p>\n
selling and turning over
\na healthy profit may
\njustify a reason
\nbut for me its not okay
\nit needs a complete re think
\nof one’s truest morals for we
\nare more than just eating machines
