Equestrian rodeo
\nthat’s what they call it
\na team of pure thoroughbred’s
\nhoping to win
\npulling a chuck wagon racing
\nlike hell round a circuit
\nand what its about, it is
\nsin
\nthousands of dollars
\nits really big money
\nso everyone does it, to win it
\nthe din
\nof the wagons the horses
\nthe crowd the occasion
\nits a once in a year
\ncelebration of power
\nbut why? well the reason
\nis now wearing thin
\nthat’s how some see it
\nthe thrust of those horses
\nand wagons behind them
\nits one hell of a stour<\/p>\n
and of course there is danger
\nand injury too
\na bit of a mishap
\nand what can one do
\ncrashes occur
\nhorses will die
\nriders too suffer
\nwhich is now why<\/p>\n
I as a soul who feels
\nwhat we should do
\nis protect our animals
\nthat is my view
\nputting them potentially
\ninto harms way
\nand inflicting injury
\neven, for one day<\/p>\n
it isn’t sport
\nor what humans need
\nwhat we do on our own
\nthat’s one thing, indeed
\nall sorts of dangers
\nwe can take on
\nbut asking an animal
\nthat’s when we’ve gone <\/p>\n
over the top
\nfor the voiceless
\ncan’t say
\none way or the other
\nthey just have to
\n play<\/p>\n
ball and the ball game
\nis likely to be
\na terrible stress to them
\nas we can see
\nthe figure of 50 dead horses
\nto me
\nis 50 too many
\nit thus shouldn’t be<\/p>\n

\nhas come to now stop it
\nas sponsorships climb
\nand more people go for it
\nchancing their arm
\nand the animals suffer
\nand come to great harm<\/p>\n
