Tear stained faces
\nlost souls tagged and ready
\nstaring through the bars
\nthose prison bars
\nfar removed from the green fields
\nof emotion
\nand the moonlight and the
\ntwinkle of the stars
\nfrustrated by the concrete
\nand the hardness
\nthe wretchedness surrounding
\nall they do
\nits hard to stand here
\ndevoid of all vision
\nand know the world
\nis not thinking of you<\/p>\n
except to maintain costs
\nand make their profit
\nyou are now a commodity
\nno more
\na consciousness the apathy apparent
\nfor soon you will
\nbe knocking at death’s door
\nnot because your old

\nthe reason your young and virile

\nideal for the superstore

when the truck arrives

\nthose gaps and see the light
\nfeel the motion

\nyes however slight<\/p>\n
and let the tears
\nflow quietly
\nknow that soon you will be
\nhanging by your rear leg
\nwith your life’s blood
\ngushing free<\/p>\n
as your eyes bulge
\nand your veins swell
\nand your heart beats
\nextra fast
\nand the man in white
\nlooks up at you
\nyou know your dye

human unkind
\nwas everywhere
\neach one of them you saw
\nhad eaten your ancestors
\nyou knew that
\nyou were sure
\ntheir children might have
\npatted you

\nhuman beings seem aloof
