India has come to its decision
\nto obliterate the dogma of its past
\nto instigate a system of removal
\nof animal experimentation
\nwhich had cast
\nan awfully dark cloud
\nacross the spectrum
\nof testing its cosmetics
\non those who
\nwould never ever use them
\nit was thought thus to abuse them
\nwas a reasonable solution
\nit is true<\/p>\n
and for decades we have known
\nof this vile torment
\nthat carried on the pain
\nboth day and night
\nexploitation of the voiceless
\nfor a corporate conclusion
\nwhich in essence was allowed
\nbut wasn’t right
\nthe masses used the perfumes and overlooked
\nthose voiceless one’s
\nfrightened in our cages
\nby the daily tests, and they
\nperished in their millions
\nmany in discomfort
\nand that agonising withdrawal
\nof trust
\nthat many had felt up to then
\nand was replaced with such disgust
\nit didn’t help allergic reactions
\nanyway
\nan added cost apparent
\nwhich someone had to pay
\nthe animals were tortured
\nbut few seemed bound to care
\nand so it has for countless times
\nnobody was aware<\/p>\n
and then it dawned on some
\nat least, the cruelty and sin
\nthe violence and the hatred
\nthe excuses had worn thin
\nand a movement grew in consciousness
\nto try and keep those who
\nwere helpless and were
\nvoiceless knowing not what they
\ncould do
\nairlines got involved in shipping
\nprimates to their death
\nit was another tragedy exchanging
\ncash for breath
\ncalling live souls cargo like slaves
\nof years before
\nhumility was lost it seems
\nin all that blood and gore<\/p>\n
Now India’s vast continent of guru’s and
\nthe like
\nthe spiritual a mainstay
\nof the curry and the bike
\nwith all its faults had risen
\nand had seen the folly and
\nhad felt the wreath of evil
\nand begun to understand
\nhow outmoded how unfair
\nand an unholy sense
\nof terror and of torment
\nthat had proved to be so tense
\nthe outcomes never proven
\nthe agony therefore
\nwas wrong in every detail
\nthe data was too raw<\/p>\n
so India has stepped up to its
\nparapet and said
\nthe voiceless one’s
\nwill not now die
\nand the system is now dead
\ncosmetics and the like
\nwill not be tested any more
\non the innocent
\nor the voiceless
\nand I for one am sure
\nhumility is bounded when the joyous
\ncan rejoice
\nwhen the earthlings
\nget their lives back
\nand the voiceless
\nget the choice<\/p>\n
