Wolves can sigh a little more
\nthey have some rights at least
\nthe black clouds had been forming
\naround this precious beast
\na lot of real wolf haters
\nhad lobbied and had tried
\nto give the wolf an aura
\nmany yes had lied
\nbut Grey Wolves do need freedom
\napex predators they
\nare an integral part of
\nthe wilderness
\nand must be allowed to stay
\nnot slaughtered out of existence
\nby the ranchers and their breed
\nwho want a quiet life
\nand a way to ensure they just
\nsucceed
\nbut they have been reminded
\nthat the wolf too
\nhas a place
\nit was there before the
\nrancher
\ncame to harry and displace
\nand Oregon lawmakers
\napparently it appears
\nhave taken all of this on board
\nincluding the inflated fears
\nWolves can still be slaughtered
\nby the ranchers if they are caught
\nin the act of wounding or biting
\nbut sport
\nhunting them and killing them
\nfor no reason at all
\nis not deemed as a pastime
\nthey have answered the call
\nof the wild and of the activists
\nwhose voices loud and clear
\nthey were heartfelt and close to the earth
\nand its good that they did hear
\nnot the rustle of the dollar bills
\nbut the wetness of our eyes
\nand have hopefully produced a bill
