The forests are the Planet’s lungs
\nthat clear the air and balance all
\nits chock a block with myriad souls
\nit drives me up the wall!
\nmedicinal plants safeguarding top soil
\nand beyond
\ntrillions of tiny insect hordes
\nmake up what is a bond<\/p>\n
and its awash with reptiles
\nwith birds and primates too
\nthis is the living planet
\ndiversified for you
\nstoring up its energy
\nbuilding on success
\ntill along came all of those
\ncorporates who created all this mess<\/p>\n
and all that grows
\nis torn a’sunder
\nripped apart
\nslashed and burned
\nkilled the boundless creatures
\neach one of them was spurned
\nit was once a green explosion
\nof life force and desire
\nand they turned it into
\nshadow land drenched in smoke and fire <\/p>\n
in places where the indigenous
\nhad lived their lives for years
\nhad cultivated jungle gardens
\nwith blood and sweat and tears
\nall of them were brutalized
\ntold to go away
\nthe women raped some men were killed
\ntheir land taken away<\/p>\n
Palm oil those plantations
\nthat creep into the sphere
\nthey steal the sunlight from the land
\nreplacing it with fear
\nencouraging the pestilence
\nthe rats the cobras too
\nto be attracted by the palm oil
\nthe kernal’s soon on view<\/p>\n
the tangle of untidiness
\nwhere before forests of green
\nliving breathing oxygenating
\nthat is what had been
\nthere for many centuries
\nnow the slash and burn
\nhad turned the fresh sweet air
\ninto a smog and much concern<\/p>\n
the black smoke, the particulates
\ndrifted on the sky
\nand settled over Malaysia
\nand Singapore and why
\nthat set of corporate criminals
\nlaying down their worth
\nbuilding up their profits
\ndestroying mother earth<\/p>\n
murdering the Orangutans
\nand other primates too
\nthe trees are torn down
\nand replaced by the palm
\nthe mono crew
\nthat attracts the darkest embrace
\nstretching far across the land
\nnothing wants to grow there
\nfor the light was never planned<\/p>\n
the huge great leaves cut out the pathways
\nand we see just shade
\nthe biosphere is sobbing
\nfor really they’ve put paid
\nto the truly living forest
\nto the energy of life
\nand replaced it with the abyss
\nof sin
\nan imbalanced world of strife<\/p>\n
a morass out of the forest
\nwhere once the creatures ran
\nits was based on corporate margins
\nthis evil it began
\nwhat was a living entity
\na miracle of time
\nand now we have a ragged glimpse
\nof what is doom and slime<\/p>\n
the supermarkets own brands
\nare pulling in this stuff
\nits now in every product
\nthey cannot get enough
\nits cheap and highly profitable
\nfor low wages there’s no doubt
\nso the corporate make the profit
\nand the planet loses out<\/p>\n
we must all, ban this palm oil
\ncheck out our labels, we
\ncan really make a difference
\nwe can tell them actually
\nwe will boycott palm oil products
\nif they carry on like this
\ndestroying the precious jungles
