We’ve eaten chicken legs
\nand legs of lamb
\nand legs of beef
\nand legs of pork
\nand all of those that do
\ndon’t question it<\/p>\n
well only some perhaps now
\nvery few<\/p>\n
Bear paw seemingly attracts
\ncriticism
\nreally because
\nits not done in the West
\nthese bear paws
\nthough the facts
\nare clear
\nit calls for abject agony
\nthat stifles care and thought
\nwhich must be addressed<\/p>\n
its what we do with the animals
\nthat we consume, so caught
\nup in all the misery
\nbut we do not bat an eye
\nand we are the first to take the
\nChinese now to task
\nmy question really has to be now why?<\/p>\n
As a vegan I’m against it all
\nthe cruelty is there
\nfor the deaths of all these creatures
\nall are equally unfair<\/p>\n
I did not set out to degrade
\nthe bears,
\nthose creatures
\nwild they are and proud
\nthey be
\nbut I see the shallowness
\nof western thinking
\nthe chickens and the pigs
\ncows and baby<\/p>\n
lambs their legs are roasted
\nwith the garnish
\nnot a sound
\npictures in the magazines
\nand spread across the TV screens
\nand in their blood each of them was drowned<\/p>\n
yes its wrong for the bears
\ntheir awful sacrifice
\nbut the West must look inside itself too
\nand see
\nthose animals its eats
\nare equally valuable
\nthe creator loves all animals
\nequally.<\/p>\n
stop the vile consumption of all animals
\nBear Paws Chicken legs
\npig legs and all
\nCow legs in our stews
\nand little lambs
\nthat fall
\nabout and jump and dance
\nin the green meadows
\nand the calves shot dead
\nor strangled in the field
\nand that’s because we choose
\nto eat our yoghurt
\nand the human dairies
\nwant that bigger yield <\/p>\n
we’re told to splash the cold milk
\non our crispies
\nand what we’re told we do
\nit every day
\npump our kids with sugar
\nand then steal it from the calves<\/p>\n
and then go off to church
