Not a modicum of difference
\nbetween Dairy and Meat
\nwhich ever path the poor cows tread
\nit does become a feat<\/p>\n
for human engineering
\nand profit enters fast
\nwith all its mundane gearing
\nand its outrage clearly cast<\/p>\n
the Dairy, hides behind the fact
\nof milk and cheese and cream
\nthe cows are treated terribly
\nmuch worse that it does seem<\/p>\n
their diets seldom include grass
\nand wild herbs any more
\nand instinctively they suffer
\ntheir udders getting sore<\/p>\n
often by the time their milk
\nis lessening the game
\nis over for the dairy cow
\nmore often and not, she’s lame<\/p>\n
stuck inside for ages
\nno sunshine on their backs
\nno fresh green grass to speak of
\nI’m afraid these are the facts<\/p>\n
de-horned and branded
\ntails torn off and lots of pain
\nbetween
\nudders burned of all those hairs
\nfarming is less than green <\/p>\n
cows are raped consecutively
\ntheir calves stolen away
\noften fed on GM soya
\nalmost every day<\/p>\n
treated with those chemicals
\nand given a hard time
\ntheir milk goes to the human tribe
\nto acidify their chyme <\/p>\n
the fear factor is commonplace
\nthe emotions shot to bits
\nthey are beaten and shocked all the time
\nfrightened out of their wits<\/p>\n
and when they do stop giving milk
\nits the slaughterhouse where they
\nend up throats slit hung out to dry
\nthey suffer and they pay<\/p>\n
the piper for their inordinate and
\ncommiserate display
\nof grief their calves then taken the time
\nthe rainbow bridge
\nis beckoning in the distance
\nbeyond the primrose ridge<\/p>\n
often lame perhaps a downer
\nno longer is your gait
\nable to walk to the truck
\nand nobody can wait<\/p>\n
and so they get a fork lift truck
\nand man handle you until
\nyour breath gives out
\nand there’s do doubt
\nthat is when they kill<\/p>\n
compassion has no significance
\nits important that you die
\nthat you get strung up on the chains
\nyour throat slit which is why<\/p>\n
your legs are hacked off possibly
\nand your skin is torn off too
\na dairy cow gets no respect
\nwhich apparently is true<\/p>\n
The Beef cow
\nmight see grass sometimes
\na week or so before
\nits due to hit the slaughterhouse
\nand all that blood and gore<\/p>\n
it certainly gets no respect
\nand gets its share of cruelty
\nfarm animals are tortured
\nand end up progressively
\n,
\nlost in fears of shock and awe
\nthe irony of choice
\ndeath comes swiftly to the soul
\nwho also has no voice<\/p>\n
so this is the prognosis
\nwhether meat or dairy
\nthe animals are not thought about
\nthe faint hearted are wary<\/p>\n
to be a cow in this vile world
\nis to my mind hell itself
\nneither path is comfortable
\nthere’s very little stealth<\/p>\n
its in your face each moment
\ncruelty and pain
\nyou become their commodity
\nits really what they can gain<\/p>\n
in financial terms from what you are
\nwhat you give that’s all
\nyou really have no other use
\nthat has to be the rule<\/p>\n
and I don’t see it getting better
\nthough the vegan tribe increases
\nstill there are so many uses
\nand your cut to pieces<\/p>\n
utilized in many ways
\nby many trades that’s you
\nman un kind to you he’s blind
