A picture of tranquility
\nsunlight, blossoms singing birds
\nbutterflies in fact we see
\na peaceful little sojourn, words
\npossibly from another time
\nawoken to a frenzy
\nwhere the denizens now climb
\ninto an enclosure
\nwhere two horses strapped
\nnow stand
\none has fallen over
\nwhich may not have been planned
\nbut it has happened
\nweakened by the lack of food, no doubt
\nenter two thin ravaged hounds
\nwho know what they’re about
\na sickly horse lies motionless
\nunable to stand
\nhungry hounds apparently
\nas their stomachs pound
\ningloriously attempt to
\nfeed upon the poor horse there
\nentering its orifice
\nits flesh and blood to share
\nthat smell of fresh blood
\nclearly excites the hounds and they
\nbegin the gory grisly task
\nof engorging, a display
\nof such egregious nature
\nfilmed by someone who
\nwas party to this torture
\nand could have stopped it too<\/p>\n
in the background laughter rings out
\nvoices can be heard
\nand whist these hounds are
\nfeeding
\non what seems so absurd
\nwhere’s the justification
\nto be filming such an act
\nwhen this could be reported
\nand stopped
\nhow I react<\/p>\n
to what I see
\nits incredulous to think
\nthat as the camera records this
\nas the hounds now drink
\nthe blood of this live offering
\nwhose abject agony
\nis obvious to all our eyes
\nits complete depravity<\/p>\n
there are no words to describe this
\nits an evil where remorse
\napparently
\nwas set aside
\nthe safety of that horse
\nthe welfare of a sentient
\nwas left to canter on
\ninto a dark adversity
\nwhere sanity had gone<\/p>\n
a certain Mr Borkovic
\nis implicated here
\nit appears he ran this animal place
\na disturbing place where fear
\nand negligence seem commonplace
\nfor close to where it occurred
\nwe can hear a sort of commentary
\nalmost every word<\/p>\n
to imagine being eaten
\nalive by rabid dogs
\nribs protruding skin and bone
\nthemselves wild canine troggs
\nstarving yet were able
\nto get into the space
\nwhere 2 horses were clearly strapped up
\nthere but for god’s grace<\/p>\n
the other horse could have also
\nbecome a victim to these hounds
\nafter several minutes
\nthe barbarity astounds
\neven the hardened criminal
\neven the strongest heart
\nfor the severity was terrible
\nsuch violence from the start<\/p>\n
and what plays on my mind
\nwas it was preventable, and so
\nthe camera man was clearly implicated too
\nI know he probably felt the need
\nto collect the evidence. but he
\nshould have stopped this straight away
\nand reduced the agony<\/p>\n
I hope to God
\nthe authorities will step in here and see
\nthat this place is closed down at once
\nfor the sheer depravity
\nof all involved however that let
\nthe camera’s roll
\nlet the dogs into this place
\nthat clearly lost control<\/p>\n
the poor horse
\nwe can only feel
\nhow it felt, this abuse
\nbeing eaten and pulled about
\nthe anger it did loose
\nthe pain inside of all us
\nwho may have shared it too
\nwe hope we dearly hope those implicated
\nhere will do<\/p>\n
a long stint in some prison
\nand be reminded they
\nwere guilty of such negligence
\nand for that a horse did pay
\nsuch agony its lamentable, really the worst way
\nto leave any world
\nto just be hurled
