Australia had a problem with
\nbeetles years ago
\nimporting Cane Toads
\nfrom the USA
\nthe idea was that
\nthey would gobble up the beetles
\nbut arrogance a forethought
\nand reality showed up and now they pay
\nbig time as the toads
\nwere very toxic
\non their backs some glands
\nproduced this stuff
\nand anything that ate them
\nwas dead before they swallowed
\nthem
\nand even great big king snakes
\nfound life tough<\/p>\n
The Cane Toads also
\nwere effective breeders
\nthe ladies laying 35000 eggs
\nthat is rather serious
\none has to say
\nthats another 70,000 legs hopping here and hopping there
\nand breeding
\nsoon there will be only Cane Toads left
\nevery other animals would have
\nhit the dust
\nand Australia alas
\nwill be bereft
\nof every other animals imaginable
\nthis often happens when man
\nthinks he knows
\nbetter than the world of
\nhonest Nature
\nthe problem that he thought he had
\njust grows<\/p>\n
so now a few are going out
\nat midnight and collecting toads
\nand killing them but they
\nare really only scraping at the surface
\nAustralia may be over run
\nsomeday
\nthe lesson do not do the work of nature
\nshe knows best and you know nothing much
\nand here’s a case in point
\nwhere it has back fired
\nI think now just sit down
\nand smoke a joint
\nand pretend it isn’t happening
\nthe problem when we mess with nature
\nthings can get
\nout of hand
\nCane Toads are now closing in on everywhere
\nwhich many till today
