Being born a calf in California
\nland of sunshine
\nsome might think that so
\nbut new born calves are
\nkidnapped from their mothers
\nand then put in a cage
\nreally, to know<\/p>\n
the evil that abounds
\nin dairy farmers
\nfar from charmers
\nwhat they do, today
\nis all to do with money
\nwhich isn’t all that funny
\nit goes against all Nature
\nhad to say<\/p>\n
babies should
\nstay with their mother
\nclearly
\nnot be shunted somewhere
\nelse where she
\nwon’t be
\nthe nutrition that calf needs
\ngoes to human babies
\nand maybe
\nthat includes yes you or me<\/p>\n
if we partake of cows milk
\non our cereal
\nor we’re daft enough
\nto take some with our tea
\nor cream upon
\nour strawberries
\nor butter on our bread
\nour habits kills the calf
\nthat’s rights the calf is gone<\/p>\n
used for cheese coagulation possibly
\nor chopped up in a pie
\nor in some brawn
\npossibly they go off into pet food
\nout of sight
\nanyhow
