It seems to me that everyone is at it
\nthe quest for money goes right to the core
\nthere was a time when professionals
\nwere all above such things
\nbut now sound judgements who
\ncan ask for sure
\nits money that drives everything
\neven the world of healing
\nlife and death and cancer treatments
\nreally its revealing
\nwhat women are now put through
\nit really seems to me
\ntheir empowerment would be simple
\nbut no its fear, we see<\/p>\n
cardboard threats and potential risks
\nno substance to them, are
\nput out by the white coats
\nwho are very very far
\naway from what is actual
\nto what just might occur
\nand giving anyone the option
\nreally to refer<\/p>\n
to what is, self mutilation
\ncutting off each breast
\njust in case you get the disease
\nyou take the highest test
\nyour told of a very high risk
\nwhat can you say to that
\nto me it is such a vile affair
\nshe should have smelled a rat<\/p>\n
this was major surgery which may cost
\nher a deal
\nmore of real discomfort
\nshe, dare not conceal
\nthe fact her breasts have
\nbeen cut off
\none has to really ask
\nwho ever made this decision
\nshould be taken to task<\/p>\n
for there is no true
\nreason
\nwhy this women should believe
\nthat they could prevent cancer
\nif her breast she was relieved
\nof
\nits simply wrong of them
\nto say such things to her
\nand now she is beside herself
\nand messed up as it were<\/p>\n
and she’s a famous actress
\nwhich does not bode well
\nfor all the other women
\nwho are told to face
\ntheir hell
\ntold that they have shadows
\nwo are frightened in this way
\nand made to undergo
\nthe expensive treatments
\nevery day
\nwhen most of them don’t know<\/p>\n
the success rates are incredibly small
\nand, they suffer so
\nthe doctors make a packet
\nand Big Pharma’s profits grow
\ncancer’s costing millions
\nand they’re raking it all in
\nbut self mutilation as a prevention
\nI think is a sin<\/p>\n
against all humanity
\nto put a women through
\nsuch anguish at well such a time
\nI mean what can one do
\nyou have to be of such a strong
\ndemeanour to get by
\nto fight against the surgeons
\nwho otherwise imply<\/p>\n
fear and threats and risks
\na women faced with all of this
\nreally becomes understandably
\nas far away from bliss
\nas anyone could ever be
\nentering such woe
\nsuch a pivotal decision
\nof just which way to go<\/p>\n
what has happened to this women
\nis a case that breaks the heart
\nshe is very rich of course
\nbut just to try and start
\nto think about the options
\nof losing both her breasts
\nand undergoing god knows what
\nwith all those awful tests<\/p>\n
and then to find out afterwards
\nthat it was probably a mistake
\nthat the judgement she was given
\nwasn’t for her sake
\nit was more to do with money
\nit kind of drags you down
\nit must get to one’s marrow
\nin the blood of life we drown<\/p>\n
I just cannot imagine
\nthe implications here
\nhow the doctors did this
\nand how the ladies fear
\nclearly took her into realms
\nshe wouldn’t have gone to, she
\nwas so convinced by them
\nthat she could die
\nit had to be<\/p>\n
this really is the hardest
\npoem I have had to write
\nto try to get inside of her
\nand why she thought they were right
\nshe had such empowerment
\nyet she let them take away
\nevery ounce of her core strength
\nand for that she is going to pay<\/p>\n
a high price
\nfor her sanity is what now
\nmust create
\nanother bout of thoughtfulness
\ndid she have a trait
\nwas her risk much higher
\ndid they tell her a lie
\nwith all the money in the world
\nwe all alas will die<\/p>\n
I do not really know of her
\nbut I reason that she must
\nbe beside her self with such remorse
\nand for those she believed disgust
\nfor she has lost so very much
\nand must live with this for she
\nwill be reminded every moment
\nof every day that we<\/p>\n
are mortal and our flesh and blood
\nis ours and we must try
\nand look after what we are given
\nuntil the day we die
\nwe can absorb some agony
\nwe can absorb some woe
\nbut when doctors come and lie to us
\nreally it goes to show<\/p>\n
that nobody is above the clouds
\nopinions, that’s all they are
\nand whilst we are alive
\nit is for us to really star
\nin our own life but looking
\nafterall that we possess
\nfilling our lives with love and care
