A sea of writhing feathers
\ngreat clouds of obnoxious smell
\nammonia cuts into, one’s being
\nand drives you into hell
\nyou go and come back
\nremembering
\nthe evil that you saw
\nwhen you left daylight behind
\nand opened the great door<\/p>\n
the noise the clattering chattering
\nthe chaotic and violent sound
\nof thousands and thousands of victims
\nall stuck there on the ground
\nclucking ducking bucking
\nin what is a vast melee
\nof bodies many threadbare
\nand bloodied awfully<\/p>\n
the pecking order prevalent
\ncorpses everywhere
\nalready half scoffed by maggots
\ninto instant despair
\nwalking around and seeing
\nyour heart goes out for those
\nwho would normally peck in a grassy field
\nwith slugs between their toes<\/p>\n
and here its vile,bits of birds
\nscattered here and there
\nfeathers excrement and urine
\ncrap just everywhere
\nto live in this confusion
\nthis evil that is there
\nit must drive these birds crazy
\nand the vileness of the air<\/p>\n
I felt, absolutely sick
\nthen someone reminded me
\nthat if I’d had a bloody wound
\npossibly on my knee
\nattack much worse than piranha
\nthat is a sobering thought
\nwhen you in the back of a chicken shed
\nto be well and truly caught<\/p>\n
by a bunch of raging chickens
\npecking you to death
\nin ammonia thick atmosphere
\nalready your burning breath
\nhas made it hard to walk in fact
\nyou want to vomit so
\nand when you get out you gasp aloud
\nand suck in some air
\nand know<\/p>\n
you are back out in the daylight
\nmy god you feel relieved
\nto go in there in the first place
\nyou feel as though your were deceived
\nits the most awful place imaginable
\nits all bedlam, in there
\na seething writhing shambles
\nwhere you can cut the air
\nwith a knife its almost coloured
\na green expanse of vile
\na constant rabid ruction
\nI couldn’t reconcile<\/p>\n
Inside these sentient creatures
\nare monsters in the making
\nthey’ve gone through the nervous
\nmad stage
\nand now their hearts are breaking
\ntheir brains have gone to zombie stage
\nthey don’t know what they do
\nthey eat each other
\nthey squawk aloud
\nand of course they will peck you<\/p>\n
vast corporate agendas
\nmargins cut and dry
\nits all about shareholders
\nwhether chickens die
\nno one cares one iota
\nits money, thats the force
\nand all these chickens
\nsuffer their whole short lives
\nof course
\nand have to live in dreadful
\ncircumstances to ensure
\nthat corporate margins are maintained
