The reason elders respect the wolves
\nif they of course did live
\nout there in the countryside
\nand both of them did give
\nmuch back to the planet
\nin their own instinctive ways
\neach respected what the other did
\nand it all plays
\ninto a natural vision
\nof how the West was made
\nintroducing ranches
\nhas truthfully now laid
\na burden on the wild life
\nand the wilder realms beyond
\nand the ranchers might be adamant
\nand not particularly fond
\nof wolves, because they damage stock
\nwell what do you expect them to do
\nyou protect your cattle
\nthey were there long before you<\/p>\n
The elders they are wise men
\nthey lived out in the air
\nthey bathed inside the rivers
\nthe countryside they share
\nranchers they are molly coddled
\nlobbyists do shout
\nbecause they have the money
\nthey can orchestrate a rout
\nbut remember all the wild one’s
\nhave such knowledge and can use
\na great deal of it, its sustainable
\nand they don’t abuse<\/p>\n
anyone or anything
\nthat’s the hunters ploy
\nthey will kill more than they want
\nkilling brings them joy
\nand sexual gratification
\nnot so the tribes who live
\nand die out in the forests
\nfor them they also give<\/p>\n
back a lot of effort
\nin maintaining all we see
\nin harvesting the wild fruits
\nand the wild nuts from the tree
\nthey know what is available
\nand the season when they grow
\nthey understand the planet
\nand are in the know<\/p>\n
so listen when they tell you
\nthe wolf must stay around
\nhe’s needed in the countryside
\nand should be always found
\nto slaughter them like crazy
\nwhich is what the hunters do
\nis bringing perils to the land
