Every mother has the right
\nTo Freely give nutrition to
\nHer infant and since time began
\nImagine what that day did do
\nWhen a researcher in a Lab

\nA closeness like no other closeness
\nThe mother feeling each sweet drop
\nSo richly laced with organo chlorines
\nMercury it did not stop
\nPicked up and carried by the winds
\nFrom chimneys far away
\nFrom Philadelphia to Nebraska

And now a poor young Inuit mother
\nKnows she has poisoned her dear son
\nShe knows the dolphin meat she’s eaten
\nWas polluted what has she done
\nTo her unborn child and now the nursing child
\nshe holds against her breast
\nAnd still consumes the fat of seals
\nand Whales, wild food, she feeling blessed
\nBut now the planets dark clouds hover
\nTo send the fall out down on where
\nShe lives and works in the cold arctic
\nAn indigenous soul feeling despair<\/p>\n
Through absolutely no fault of hers The Arctic the last great wilderness has been breached by our spills and pollutive clouds
\nShe lived a pure and honest life
\nA hunter gatherer in the Arctic
\nWhere the climate creates some strife
\nIn this harsh place sustainably
\nShe lived her simple life
\nAnd is paying for the American Dream
\nThat cuts through her like a knife
\nHow easy it seemed to burn their filth
\nTheir radio active waste
\nTheir pesticides their,\u00a0 mercury
\nTheir behaviour seems misplaced
\nThey have taken a pristine wilderness
\nAnd allowed the dirt to be
\nHanging in the Arctic air
\nFor an eternity
