When circus comes to town
\nin any country
\nits purpose is to thrill
\nand shock, and they
\nseem to, mind you
\nwhere they get their ideas from
\nclearly they are archaic
\nthey just play<\/p>\n
into fear and a sort of
\nimagination
\nbut along the way
\nall suffer and so much
\nthe animals are unpaid unloved
\nuncared for
\nand the rest of us
\nare really out of touch<\/p>\n
and so they operate
\nunder the radar
\nlocal laws mean nothing
\nto them, they
\nget on with whatever
\nbreaching by laws
\ndoing anything
\nthen just move away<\/p>\n
this sort of cloak and dagger
\nleads to some pretty awful judgement
\nthe foolishness and senselessness
\naround
\nexploitation of the working animals
\nis obviously
\nthe most horrid
\nand frustrating thing we’ve found<\/p>\n
torture,and abuse
\nits really rampant
\nas circus sort of dies
\nit seems to be
\nthat less support is out there
\nfor what they offer and
\nanimals suffer more
\nas we can see<\/p>\n
its right across the
\nworld
\nin every country
\ntortured trained unkindly
\nwithout voice
\nwithout rights
\nits always desperate the state takes
\nan advantage
\nalone so many do not have a choice<\/p>\n
housed badly and fed badly
\nand the people who devise
\ntheir acts throw caution to the wind
\nis that such a surprise
\nor have no thought about
\nthe consequences
\nso thick skinned
\nand without that understanding
\nnothings underinned<\/p>\n
no feelings whatsoever
\nof the animals plight
\ntotally uncaring
\nand unappreciative
\nof right<\/p>\n
in the circus nobody has rights
\nreally none at all
\nthey travel here
\nthey travel there
\non nobody they call
\nthey simply make their own laws
\nand satisfy themselves
\nand the animals have to
\nlump it and its not until
\none delves<\/p>\n
like PETA or some independent
\nanimal rights brigade
\nthat all of this is brought out
\nand the gory facts are laid
\nopen to the public
\nbut still most do not care
\nthey have their individual fear
\nand seem so unaware<\/p>\n
like so many things today
\nthere is great pressure
\nevery independent business
\nfeels
\nwe are up against the corporate
\ngiant
\nthe strength the power
\nthat pressure just reveals<\/p>\n
that’s how circus operates
\nits a sort of shady show
\none minutes it is somewhere
\nthe next well it did go
\nthere is no continuity
\nand so it gets away
\nwith what become underhand
\nabuse even today<\/p>\n
the incident I write about
\nhappened in Shanghai
\nbetween a bear and a monkey
\nand the monkey it did die
\nthe monkey taught to ride a bike
\nand so got on his way
\npeddling like the clappers
\nto get out of the way
\nof a bear whose also taught to ride
\nand does ride at a pace
\nbecause he wants to eat
\nthe monkey, you can see that
\non his face<\/p>\n
he’s hungry but the monkey
\njust wants to get away
\nand this is of course the circus act
\nand why the crowds do pay
\ninside they want the monkey to get eaten
\nthey want the thrill to see the blood and gore
\nputting that sweet monkey in this scenario
\nis sinful,it is sick which some ignore<\/p>\n
the monkey, he’s alone unpaid uncared for
\nhe’s the victim, he’s the living bait
\nhe’s the one who has to peddle madly
\nor with death alas he makes his date
\nthe bear is really hungry
\nand he wants that monkey bad
\nand so he peddles like the clappers
\nthe scenario is sad<\/p>\n
he catches up and pounces
\nand scoffs the monkey whole
\nthe handlers look amazed at that
\nthey just cannot control
\na hungry bear
\nwho sets his sights
\non monkey for his meal
\nwatched by screaming children
\nwho do not know how to feel <\/p>\n
blood and guts are everywhere
\nthe monkey is no more
\nthe bear is rather happy
\nbut is sorry for the gore
\njudgement comes across
\nto some
\nhow foolish that all was
\nhow inevitable the result here
\nreally just because<\/p>\n
the monkey had no rights at all
\nwas expendable, a shame
\nbut they could get another monkey
\nwho would ride the same
\nthis is what the voiceless
\nhave to suffer every day
\nwhether its an elephant
\nor a chicken they all pay<\/p>\n
with terrible lives of torture
\nor CAFO’s where they re bred
\nto live short lives of agony
\nand then of course are dead
\nfor every sort of reason
\nwith profit for a few
\nand the public have lost sight
\nof them
\nits just one big corporate stew<\/p>\n
which everyone partakes of
\nadds excuses now and then
\ndapples here and dapples there
\nbut from one point all does stem
\nrights the rights of freedom
\nthe individual’s right
\nto live a life thats fair to them
\nand whose way ahead feels bright<\/p>\n
Animals in circus
\nas everybody knows
\nin entertainment and sporting events
\ntheir futility it grows
\nthe corporates have taken over
\nand truly intercede
\nthe slaughtering is massive
\nthe innocent they bleed<\/p>\n
everywhere the wild one’s
\nthe farmed ones how they die
\nthe meat trade and the fish trade
\nand the dairy trade
\nare high
\nrollers in the murder game
\nhunting trapping we
\nsee carnage almost everywhere
\nits massive actually<\/p>\n
so circus back to circus
\nits passed its sell by date
\nlike rodeo and bull fighting
\nreally we can’t wait
\nwe have to see an end to it
\nthe animals can not be
\ntreated in such an awful way
\nit must end now
\nand we must see<\/p>\n
the end for those unfortunates
\nand the mayhem of it all
\nthis monkey bear scenario
\nis a case that does appal
\nbut its duplicated everywhere
\nmillions of times no doubt
\nits just this got on the internet
\nad went viral it got out<\/p>\n
the handlers can do nothing
\nbut watch this evil scene
\nand this is why so many say
\ncircus is obscene
\ncircus does it own thing
\ncircus is today
\npassed it evil sell by date
\nand must be made to pay.
\nanimals and circus must never
\nbe allowed
\nthe voiceless ones they have no rights
\nand in abuse are showered
\nthey are housed extremely badly
\nfed or the cheapest stuff
\ntortured throughout training
\nlife for them is tough
\nand many are sick and still
\nthey must perform and hungry too
\nthe bear that got the monkey
\nmade the internet
\nthe view
\nwas ghastly for that monkey
\na sacrificial soul
\nbut lets hope the world
\nwakes up and slams
\norders that control
\nwhat they do and how they do
\nand animals to be banned
\nthis is now a requirement
