\nat the Franklin Zoo
\nwhere Dr Helen Schofield
\nknew exactly what to do
\nshe so cared for this elephant
\ninviting her to try
\nand forget the life of Jumbo
\nfrom the circus
\nand to try
\nand live a life
\nof naturalness
\na life where loving flowed
\nwhere about 400 animals
\nlived to her strict code
\nof really understanding
\neach animal that was there
\neach one was a character
\nand their love she tried to share
\nBut Mila clearly was her biggest
\nproblem
\n4 tons of elephant
\nimmensely strong
\nencouraging rewarding
\nof course that is according
\nand helping her
\nfeelthat she did belong
\nthat fateful day a year ago
\nwhen Mila appeared to get
\nan electric shock from off the fence
\nwhich gave Mila a knock
\nand Dr Helen slipped inside her enclosure
\nAnd Mila picked her up
\nwhich did reveal
\nthe majesty and muscle of that moment
\nexerting too much pressure
\nnow they feel
\nshe was crushed
\nall her internal organs
\nhad been ruptured
\nwith death poor Helen
\nclearly had been brushed
\nnow an american keeper
\nhas been working
\nand Helen’s sister too
\nhas helped to house
\nthey think they’ve found a new place
\nfor dear Mila
\nfor the zoo has closed
\nand there are not enough hours<\/p>\n
Mila needs some company
\nshe’s lonely
\nand human comforts
\nare not quite the same
\nclearly she’s found much love
\nand affection
\nbut needs a better environment
\nnow they claim
\nshe eats 100 kilos every single day
\nhelp has come from quarters near and far
\nMila seems to be a happy bunny
\nand clearly in this zoo
