I have to say I felt sick watching
\nthis machine at work
\nthe operatives were automaton’s
\nand, in and around it they did lurk
\nman handling lambs onto the tray
\nstaring at the sky
\nwhilst various surgical steps
\nwere undergone
\nit is no lie<\/p>\n
tail docking, and castration ear punching
\nwhat we do
\nto babies little squealing souls
\nis we take the view
\nthat they are really dead meat
\nthey do not feel the pain
\nof having clumsy surgery
\nfrom those who are insane<\/p>\n
and without anaesthetics
\nthe shock must be intense
\nthrown off at the other end
\nto me it makes no sense
\ntreating living breathing souls
\nlike lumps of dead cold meat
\nto me it lacks compassion
\nits not sentient
\nwe cheat<\/p>\n
ourselves we cannot possibly
\nimagine how they feel
\nthese are little babies
\nwho really do conceal
\nthe element of pain that’s there
\nthey cry of course they do
\nwhat we do is torture them
\nand hurt them that’s my view<\/p>\n
and the worst thing is we don’t care
\nno one cares a bit
\nthe operatives are blaise
\nin them where does this sit
\nno where they are hopeless
\nnumb to everything
\nperforming operations
\nthat clearly have to bring
\nshock into the picture
\nand off they go to cry
\nto suffer it gets no rougher
\nthere’s real tears in every eye<\/p>\n
but no tears for the operatives
\nits all matter of fact
\npiece work they’re on piece work
\nand the tails are clear;y stacked
\nup now on the grass for each to see
\nas they do run
\nsquealing bleeding heeding
\ntheir moments in the sun<\/p>\n
Farming on a big scale
\nis tantamount to abuse
\nthere is no caring quality
\nthe whole thing is so loose
\noperatives do what they like
\nthey err and cut again
\nall this causes immense stress
\nand ongoing pain<\/p>\n
man you are unkind
\nand really shouldn’t ever try
\nto injure lambs at piece work rates
\nand, do not deny
\nwhat you do is cruelty
\nto little lambs who are
\nas innocent as the day is long
\nand all you do is scar<\/p>\n
scar their little bodies
\nbreak their little hearts
\ncut their tails off horribly
\nyou are a bunch of farts<\/p>\n
compassion and some thoughtfulness
\nshould surface I should say
\nnot all this abomination
\nthis machine that does convey
\nhundreds through the process
\ncosting them much pain
\nstress its for the taking
