Trapped, lured for the food
\nput down
\nand when the wolf thinks she
\nwill taste the glorious morsel
\nthe trap does forcefully
\ncapture what’s intended
\nor anything that tried
\nto eat the tender piece of meat
\nwhich has now been denied<\/p>\n
not only denied eating that
\nbut denied further life
\nits aching at this moment
\nundergoing strife
\nthe metal strips have crushed
\nits snout and its head is bloodied by
\nthe excessive force and the torque
\nof course
\nwhich may be, it soon will die<\/p>\n
lured into a trap it was
\nleft by some vile soul
\nwho knew what hunger does for beasts
\nand thus gained their control
\nshe came to steal a lump of meat
\nand lost her life oh! dear
\nif she had left it well alone
