Its isn’t just spaghetti
\nand Pinot Grigio
\ntucked away in villa’s
\nfrom Tuscany to Po
\nbut huddled in the countryside
\namongst the citrus trees
\nsometimes we hear the little cries
\nof fur bearers who seize
\na little opportunity to
\nvoice their stupefaction
\nfrom being holed up in their cells
\nhopeful for some reaction
\nItaly has more farms
\nthan any other place
\nChinchillas and of course the Mink
\nthe verdant hills do grace
\nits is an evil paradise
\nfor behind these closed doors
\nhells breaks out
\nthere is no doubt
\non dark and dusty floors
\nthousands of these small creatures
\nare imprisoned all their lives
\nthe only crime they committed
\nhaving fur, that survives
\nfor them until the market place
\nis ready and a buyer’s found
\nthen its a poker up the arse
\nelectrocution and not a sound
\njust a subtle smell of burning
\nfrom the anus and the pain
\nlook into their tiny eyes
\nfor they are not insane
\nits the farmers that are beastly
\nthat create this hell on earth
\nthat imprison them for ages
\nthat rear them and at birth
\nwho consign them to this
\nhell hole, to this place of
\nill repute
\nwhere their treated very badly
\nfor its profit at the root
\nand the less it costs to keep them
\nthe more goes in the bank
\nreally their lives are terrible
\nand their conditions rank<\/p>\n
but the coats they stitch together
\nfor the rich and famous who
\nshow off their vile collections
\nas many of them do
\nare made up of so many
\ndead bodies many hearts
\nlungs and livers hit the dust
\nor end up in the carts
\nare rolled off to the dog house
\nwhere pet food makers say
\nthe richness of the offal
\nit just makes their day<\/p>\n
its a dirty secret
\nfor the furriers who make
\nan awful lot of profit
\nbut the buyers are not awake
\nthey don’t realise particularly
\nthe agony and pain
\nthe terrible conditions
\nor the wilfulness of strain<\/p>\n
why should they, they pay thousands
\nfor their coats and seemingly
\nare up against the world
\nwhen they wear them for they be
\nadvertising terror and really stunning pain
\nan evil in the practice
\nit is ill gotten gain<\/p>\n
there has to be and end to this
\ncreation never saw
\nthe reasoning behind the trade
\nand all the blood and gore
\nCreation was protecting
\nthe creatures from the cold
\nand didn’t stop to realise
\nhow it would be sold<\/p>\n
and clearly this has stumped the
\nwider universe for they
\ndidn’t imagine that man could stoop
\nto such low depths every day
\nby murdering these babies
\nby farming them as slaves
\nby murdering them in their millions
\nand not providing graves<\/p>\n
Italy’s dirty secret
\nis out now and we know
\nthat hidden in the countryside
\nare farms
\nwhere Hell can show
\nits ugly dirty rotten face
\namongst the vineyards where
\npossibly the Pinot Grigio
\ndoes sometimes share<\/p>\n
the local air and water
\nand a summery breeze
\nbut hidden in the darkness
\nthe creatures cough and wheeze
\nfed on nest to nothing
\nand tortured all their days
\nbefore they are just murdered
\nin the nastiest of ways.<\/p>\n
