of sunlight hits their

\nbut the country goes to pot

\nwho cares if they rot
\nthe world outside tells stories
\nnobody does know
\nand the animal earthlings suffer

excuses people have them
\nto be cruel and so unkind
\nto brand them as not sentient
\nand how they are a bind
\nand costly to have around the place

\nso easy to get shot of them
\nto up some mountain go<\/p>\n
so Anna she was taken
\nby some squib with a chain
\nwho fixed her on the mountain top
\ndespite the inner pain
\nshe felt just being left there
\nbut the guy he didn’t care
\nhe didn’t even turn to look
\nhe wasn’t that aware<\/p>\n
she stood up there for ages
\nmissing the place where she
\nlived her little stable
\nthe place she liked to be
\nthe clover in the hedgerows
\nthe sunlight through the trees
\nthe fresh grass in the meadow
\nand all the mysteries<\/p>\n
surrounding her incarnation
\nand to be up here alone
\nit just was not the thing to do
\ninside her heart did moan
\nthe wind blew cold
\nthe icy breath made her feel forlorn
\nreally she was sad
\nand wondered why she had been born<\/p>\n
and so she pulled and pulled that chain
\nagainst her flesh she tried
\nto get away and go back to play
\nshe wouldn’t be denied
\nshe longed to see the sunlight
\ndapple on the trees
\nshe longed to taste the soft wet grass
\nand see the red berries<\/p>\n
she pulled and pulled
\nand suddenly yes yes she was free
\nbut she had pulled her foot off too
\nand was in agony
\nshe neighed out loud
\nshe laid down feeling sorry feeling sad
\nand was rescued by some lovely soul
\nand is now well not so bad<\/p>\n
