Wolves are getting stick now
\nalmost everywhere
\nand in Oregon a new bill
\nseems to be
\nverfy unfair
\nits going through at this time
\nwhich appears to extends the rule
\nto killing every wolf
\nthat ranchers see, aware
\nthe wording is too feeble
\nand if passed will mean
\njust that
\nthe wolves when seen
\ncould be gunned down
\nso we now know where they are at<\/p>\n
at present the law
\nis specific a rancher
\ncan only kill
\na wolf whilst in the process of
\nkilling his livestock
\nthen it will
\nbe perfectly legitimate
\nbut it is a bitter pill
\nfor ranchers to be taking
\nbecause by that time
\nit’s clear
\nthe wolf is killing their livestock
\nand their loss
\ncreates the fear<\/p>\n
but hardly any ranchers
\nwitness the event
\nfor wolves are very
\ncagey and wouldn’t be content
\nbeing watched
\ntheir prowess is better than the man
\nand by opening out the bill like this
\neven poaching can<\/p>\n
its all about investment
\nthe banksters and the like
\nits nothing to do with
\nthe environment
\nand it seems set to psche
\nthose of us
\nwho want the wolf to get
\nprotection
\nfairness from all sides
\nbut the wolf’s days appear
\nnumbered
\nas ranchers obviously
\nget the right to kill suspected wolves
\neach one they see<\/p>\n
and they are apex predators
\na wild killing machine
\nthat knows his art and practices it
\nas part of the natural scene<\/p>\n
of course there’s nothing
\nnatural
\nabout herds of cows and sheep
\naround lands where the wolves
\nhave roamed for centuries
\nthe leap
\nforward for the ranchers
\ntowards a total bill
\nwould end the lives of wolves
\non sight
\nfor many more they would kill<\/p>\n
and not for actually killing
\nbut just for being there
\nshot on sight
\nit just ain’t right
\nand all of us must care
\npetition, write and do it
\nprotect the wolves who were
\nborn to roam where they do roam
