Imagine go back thousands of years
\nwhen there were no ranching men
\nthey just were never thought of
\nand now come back again
\nto the land where wolves
\nhave run and played
\nand hunted night and day
\nthe light the dark the wind the storm
\nits all come their way<\/p>\n
and all these years
\nthrough many incarnations they evolved
\ninstincts sharpened problems thought through
\nmost things they have solved
\nas time advanced
\nthe wolf advanced
\nand came into the light
\nhe filled a million story books
\nhe never felt contrite<\/p>\n
he lived where creation put him
\nclearly, that was his place
\nhe could wander tirelessly
\nand the animals he could chase
\nand did, an apex predator
\nhis balance and his flow
\ncould be seen as organic
\nand so his fame did grow<\/p>\n
but now a vile dark thunderbolt
\nas swept down from the sky
\nman the so called hunter
\nis gunning for him
\nand why?
\nbecause he’s there to shoot at
\nbecause he’s there to blame
\nbecause seemingly he’s voiceless
\nand goes after the game<\/p>\n
there’s no doubt he’s a wild soul
\nwilderness born and bred
\nwith a heart that runs forever
\nI mean he’s never led
\na more significant lifestyle
\nthan now for what we see
\nis this brave soul is hunted
\nand looked down upon for he<\/p>\n
is the villain, of the piece
\nits always him that’s wrong
\ndespite the fact that he’s living
\nwhere he always did belong
\nit makes no odds to Ranchers
\nthey haven’t got a clue
\nthey only care about themselves
\nand what they choose to do<\/p>\n
so now there’s such a conflict
\nwith profits at the root
\nman is after killing him
\nand hoping he will scoot
\nout of where they are ranching
\nor hunting, anywhere
\njust high tail out of their space
\nwhich they are not prepared to share<\/p>\n
so what of a wild creature
\nwhat chance is there, he
\ncan take these hits
\nnow day and night
\nand still come back and be
\nas prevalent and as wonderful
\nas he has ever been
\nand now it is debatable
\nfor his attackers they are mean<\/p>\n
they use money and corruption
\nthey lobby statesmen to
\npass new laws allowing
\nthe wolf to be cut into
\ntrapped and lured
\nif we endured
\nthe evils put upon
\nhim I’m sure
\nI’m very sure
