Broilers live in vast sheds
\nbrutalized and soulless
\nthousands crammed together
\nin a breathing mess
\nlook down across the multitudes
\na living breathing brawn
\nto form an almost writhing mass
\na sick pulsating spawn<\/p>\n
everywhere are living corpses
\nunable to move their legs
\ntheir bodies far too heavy
\nthey represent the dregs
\nto all intent and purposes
\nreality appears
\nto cripple every part of them
\nreducing them to tears<\/p>\n
and so their internal organs
\ncan’t stand the pressure, they
\ncollapse inside their bodies
\nand some just rot away
\nthis is not a humane sight
\nwe have designed a hell
\nwe’ve pulverized the system
\nits all about “what we sell”<\/p>\n
its all about the profit
\nthe margins we can make
\nthe chicken is the commodity
\nand of course she’s going to break
\nsanitation and cruelty is there for
\nall to see
\nthe smell it drive you half insane
\nby its very gravity<\/p>\n
to plan this vile explosion
\nof bodies as we do
\nthat leads to cannibalism
\nand what is a living stew
\nyou will never understand
\nwhat spreads before you on the floor
\na writhing mass of feathers
\nof blood snot and pure gore<\/p>\n
its heaving here is life
\nin all its vile and awful state
\nand we designed this horror
\nits a wickedness of state
\na principle of evil
\nand what is to be their fate
\nto live in such vile squalor
\ndeath must truly wait<\/p>\n
to escape from all this ugliness
\nand dire depravity
\nto clamber through the maggots
\nand find a place to be
\nahead of what is out there
\naway from what we know
\nwhere even light is unable
\nto reach the deep below<\/p>\n
to see it and to breathe it
\nand to feel it is to be
\nconsigned to hell on earth
\na sort of re birth instantly
\nyou cannot wait to leave the place
\nyou falter as you run
\nthe air is blue with urine
\nyou can’t wait to feel the sun<\/p>\n
warm your sad exterior
\nas tears begin to flow
\nyou might just sit down
\non a bench
\nfor what you saw you know
\nhow sad how sick how squalid
\nthe broiler sheds become
\nand to go and order chicken
\nin a restaurant
\nI doubt that chum<\/p>\n
it may take perhaps for ever
\nyou may never again try
\nthe flesh of those poor earthlings
\nwho in that vast shed lie
\nand it will never leave you
\nthat nightmare it was real
\nand I have seen it with my own eyes
\nand I know, how you feel<\/p>\n
