Wolves appear to be getting
\nflack from all sides
\ntheir environment is clearly under fire
\nwhat they catch is also
\nsought by hunters
\nand that means man gets
\na big share of ire<\/p>\n
which of course then complicates
\nthe issue
\nranchers get stressed out
\nif cows are lost
\nsometimes they are taken
\none of the wolf’s
\nproblems, one that really and
\ntruthfully does cost<\/p>\n
to be hungry and go shopping
\nin his habitat
\nwhich man decides
\nis his, habitat too
\nhe wants to farm his livestock
\nhe wants to hunt wild souls
\nand clearly wolves just don’t know what to do
\ns<\/p>\n
for they are up against the great and mighty
\nwhat chance have wolves
\nreally they should just lay down and die
\nsomewhere, the view
\nthat the money grabbing cattle people
\nand hunters and the like
\nthey want to clear the land of wolves
\nand now of course they strike<\/p>\n
whilst the iron is hot al’right
\nlegislators and
\nranchers many of them
\nand lobbyists who’ve planned
\neveryone wants power
\nfor power is what its all about
\nand getting rid of wolves for good
\nseems now within a shout.<\/p>\n
the trigger happy want that
\nonly too pleased to shoot
\nto pose, it grows I do suppose
\nfor the wolf is at the root
\nhe causes all the problems
\nman’s the saintly soul
\nbut one day soon when wolves are gone
\nNature will take back control<\/p>\n
and we will see imbalance
\nand the wolf it will be missed
\nbecause the wolf is a natural predator
\nand he does enlist
\nall manner of natural processes
\nunlike, the hunter man
\nwhose purely there for the fun of it
\nthat’s not how it began<\/p>\n
Its very very sad in fact
\nwhat Hunters want to do
\nwhat ranchers have usurped and left
\nthey haven’t got a clue
\nabout the general scheme of things
\nits just their mentality
\nthe natural order means nothing
\nits their profitability<\/p>\n
there are of course the animals rights
\nand the animal lovers who
\nsee another scenario
\nwith the wolf alive a view
\nthat’s shared by the photographers
\nand country folk who care
\nand who want to see the wild souls
\nand are prepared to share<\/p>\n
the habitat with wolves and foxes
\ncoyotes and the rest
\nthey see that all add value
\nand feel that to divest
\nthe wolf now from the forest
\nis not the thing to do
\nfor it will create more problems
\nand that’s the other view<\/p>\n
the strength appears to be
\nnow where the money is
\nthat’s why I say the writings on the wall
\nlay people fighting with the animal lovers
\nhave a case but I think its a long haul
\nmoney speaks and its sloshing everywhere
\non the other side
\nso at this precise moment
\nthe wolf camp really all they have is pride<\/p>\n
they hav their strengths
\ntheir heartfelt care
\nbut up against the powerful one’s
\nthe wolf expects despair
\nand boy its coming rapidly
\nand legislators rule
\nextending hunting licenses
\nand practices and all<\/p>\n
The wolf may not be up to this
\nhe may not make it through
\nif this is the case
\nthe hunter man will pay that is
\nmy view
\nhis selfishness and arrogance
\nin the short time often wins
\nbut over the course of decades
\nwe know Nature underpins
\nthe whole, and man does suffer
\nthe sadness of course here
\nthe wolves are the sandwich filling
\nand the price may be too dear<\/p>\n
I hope now for some sanity
\nfor some balance, mindfully
\nbut my fear is that depravity
\nis extant and thus will be
\nat a loss to really understand
\nthe why’s and wherefores so
\nwe may suffer for our arrogance
