The so called beast
\nwithin the wolf is
\nits spirit of the wild
\nthe warrior that runs the plains
\nthe cold one, the wild child
\nembittered by the age of man
\nwho understands so little
\nof the forest and our way of life
\nand why the leaves are brittle<\/p>\n
he knows not of the seasons
\nfor he lives inside, and he
\nlearns to hate
\nto dissipate
\nthat basic energy
\nwe use running and hunting for our prey
\nno supermarket no
\nwhatever we must eat each day
\nwe have to catch<\/p>\n
we grow
\nin size of course
\nour knowledge base is vast
\nour instinct’s there
\nancestral knowledge is passed down
\nits what and how we share
\nThe university of life
\nits out here, next to our
\ngoddess in the forest
\nand she just does empower<\/p>\n
Hunter man and Rancher Man
\nand Government man
\nits sad
\nyou think more of your pockets
\nwhich on the whole is bad
\nI mean thats only paper
\nderived in fact from trees
\nbetter live amongst them
\nthen process them and wheeze
\na lot of you the oxygen
\nwas once so crisp and clean
\nand now its sick and vile in most parts
\nour bodies too are lean<\/p>\n
and yours are fat and lumpy
\nhunt you just fire guns
\nbullets fly and yes we die
\ndaughters sisters son’s
\nthis bullets smashes families
\ndestroys our pack and, we
\ngrieve, we grieve incessantly
\nreally, unwaveringly<\/p>\n
For aeons we have rarely been
\nat people’s beck and call
\nsome have loved us like you do
\nsome no not at all
\nbut when they hear our howling song
\ncurling through the night
\na haunting shudder runs right up their spine
\nand it can bite
\nlike the wind that cutting wind
\nthat bleaches bones to white
\ncourage and commitment
\nthe beast comes into sight
\ninside their heads they see us
\nour howl breaks through the night
\nit skirts the rocks and the mountain tops
