I don’t believe that animals can’t speak
\nno not at all
\nI do think we can’t hear them
\nfor often they do call
\nwe look away
\nSamaritans
\nwe’re very far from that
\nits over to the other side
\nwe rush
\nand some don’t bat
\nan eyelid
\nas their tears roll down
\nand their screams light up the sky
\nas billions have their dear throats slit
\nand are hung out to dry<\/p>\n
I think some of us
\nhave that urge to listen
\nbut can’t bear
\nthe thought of what they are trying to say
\nwe pretend we’re unaware
\nits really too much hastle
\nlip service is what we tend to pay<\/p>\n
I don’t believe that animals
\ncan’t speak
\nno not at all
\nthey communicate with each other
\nits just in audible
\nto our amazing senses
\nour complex attitude
\nwe choose to have a moment
\na silent interlude<\/p>\n
we really have a plenitude
\nof expression in our hearts
\nbut having to look into, their eyes
\nwhen it imparts
\nsuch sorrow and such woeful times
\nas when a poor soul dies<\/p>\n
the reaper may be grim
\nwho the hell would talk to him
\nI don’t believe that they don’t speak
\nI do believe that they all seek
\nan explanation for today
\nwe arrange their deaths
\nwe make them pay
\nand then we look the other way<\/p>\n
Samaritans not us not us
\nlook don’t bloody make a fuss
\nwe see the beast a’hanging there
\nand we order steak and we want it rare
\ncommunication we’ve lost the plot
\nthey sense it
\nthey are in our pot
\nits just we never cared a lot<\/p>\n
