Its rather like a mirage,
\nin the making
\nPerceived rather than seen,
\nit just appears
\nNo one really wants it,
\nit suddenly arrives
\nAssorted vans, a carousel,
\nand tears
\nThe journey from the last town
\nThe show it trundles on
\nUp early, get to bed late,
\nits all about performing
\nBut nobody on earth cries
\nwhen theyre gone<\/p>\n
Gangs of local blokes,
\nthey put the tent up
\nAnd when its up
\nthey call it the Big Top
\nAround the back
\nin dirty cages, roaring
\nThe animals who must pray
\nthat it will stop
\nThe innocent wee children
\nare the put upon
\nIndoctrinated
\nby their ignorant Dad
\nWho promptly takes his charges
\ninto see the show
\nToo pumped up with ego,
\nto realise how sad<\/p>\n
The animals appear
\nits hard to hide it
\nBut arrogance hides
\neverything they say
\nIts amazing what a stick
\nof candy floss can do
\nThe sawdust ring,
\nthe music that they play
\nAnd very clearly animals,
\nsweet animals
\nStolen from the wild
\nand brought into
\nA circus of all places,
\nlook into their faces
\nVacant ghostly faces
\ngive the clue<\/p>\n
The clowns a group
\nof tired old men, in masks
\nTheir noses red
\nLimping around with buckets,
\nof water clearly fed
\nUp, its in their gestures despite their masks and paint
\nThe mask hides their resentment
\nso totally it ain’t <\/p>\n
A pleasure to be working there,
\nand travelling around
\nImagine the wild animals in filth and clutter drowned
\nLousy food, wet cages
\nand shit from there to here
\nDehydrated, through little drink and carrying such fear
\nThe fear of abject torture,
\ntheir claws ripped off, the pain
\nOf literally pulling off the claws
\nYou would not want that again
\nSawing their teeth
\nand cutting them damaging their paws
\nThe jugglers and the acrobats the high wire act, that scores<\/p>\n
Bruises apparent powdered well,
\nLife is hard for humans in the circus
\nBut compared to their wild jungles
\nthis is Hell
\nThey train the animals every day in a nasty crippling heathen way
\nElephants get the bull hook plunge
\nprods and sticks, and ropes, till gunge and pus pour, from infected wounds
\nand a dozen other rotten tunes.
\nThe innocent children
\nHow can they ever
\nRealise what is
\nbehind the endeavor
\nTo see the animals
\nthey get a high
\nfor their loaded with bling
\nand inside they cry<\/p>\n
scumbags are everywhere
\nthat is to say
\nin from the streets
\nor the home made cafe
\nSome councils corrupt
\ngiving licence to those
\nWho ill treatment and torture
\nunder their nose
\nLow life, the sicko’s,
\ntesticles small
\nCowards with long prods
\nanswer the call
\nThey really lambaste them
\nthe animals who
\nMust be there performing,
\nwhatever they do<\/p>\n
Stand on their heads
\nhear the elephants cry
\nIt hurts them to do it
\nthey would rather die
\nBut for some its
\ncheap tricks they are
\nbashed up so much,
\nby hard hearted humans
\nso much out of touch
\nMy appeal is to ban
\ncircus Ban! it outright
\nTreat all with respect
\nfor day became night
\nWhen the travellers
\nstarted their mission
\nand found
\nIt wasn’t the easiest
\njob still around
\nAnd the animals suffer
\ngiven a hiding
\nFor nothing in fact
\nand all this is riding
\nAnd what is the outcome
\nof the strategy here
\nLiving close to the animals
\nwho seem to fear
\nThe people whose sticks
\nreally hurt them and they
\nAre hurting inside
\nand outside everyday
\nTraining the wild spirit
\nout of these souls
\nMeans you torture and
\nravage them, drawing dismay
\nKilling them slowly
\ndestroying their soul
\nand gradually drawing
\nthem so as to control
\nHurt them and kick them
\nlets hear them cry
\nCoupled with expletives
\nand boy do they fly
\nAnimals should never
\never be here
\nIn these terrible circuses
\nnow that is clear
\nThey have to be
\nbanned world wide and unless
\nthey are we are adding
\nto all of their stress
\nTo the animals dying,
\nto sickness and pain
\nCircus is wrong
