{"id":7356,"date":"2013-03-30T20:24:05","date_gmt":"2013-03-30T20:24:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=7356"},"modified":"2013-03-30T20:33:04","modified_gmt":"2013-03-30T20:33:04","slug":"shark-finning-a-very-cruel-way-of-sourcing-parts-for-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2013\/03\/shark-finning-a-very-cruel-way-of-sourcing-parts-for-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Shark Finning a very cruel way of sourcing parts for soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Perfectly designed,<br \/>\nover millions of years yes they<br \/>\nGlide effortlessly through the water<br \/>\non any given day<br \/>\nThey do possess a problem<br \/>\nor so it does appear<br \/>\nTheir fins are made of cartilage<br \/>\nwhich when cooked does remain clear<\/p>\n<p>And its become a problem<br \/>\nfor it seems the Chinese Race<br \/>\nMake a soup out of these fins,<br \/>\nI agree its a disgrace<br \/>\nBut they do, its down to mouth feel,<br \/>\nbitter, sweet and sour,<br \/>\nslimy, crunchy all important<br \/>\nclearly this is how<br \/>\ntheir history pans out<br \/>\nover centuries they choose<br \/>\nThe fins of shark to which they add chicken<br \/>\nbut refuse<br \/>\nTo stop consuming sharks fin<br \/>\ndespite the methods used<br \/>\nof capturing and killing<br \/>\nwith this creature so abused.<\/p>\n<p>Such ignorance a fore thought<br \/>\nthey simply hack away<br \/>\nat any shark they come across<br \/>\nin a vile and nasty way<br \/>\nThen throw the creature back<br \/>\ninto the ocean minus fins<br \/>\nto die of blood loss and of shock<br \/>\nJust another of their sins.<\/p>\n<p>A shark is an apex predator,<br \/>\nwith its footprint in the sea<br \/>\nof being quite formidable its true most when they see<br \/>\nA shark, they do feel nervous about stories that they&#8217;ve heard<br \/>\nBut a shark retains its prominence<br \/>\n and to murder it is absurd.<\/p>\n<p>Taiwan&#8217;s just banned the practice<br \/>\nbut hasn&#8217;t banned the dish<br \/>\nRestaurants serving such a product<br \/>\nboycott if you wish<br \/>\nPeople have to see that<br \/>\nevery creature feels great pain<br \/>\nand sharks are very sensitive<br \/>\n and undergo great strain<br \/>\nIts gelatinous, its not really nice,<br \/>\nits a very Chinese thing<br \/>\nBut I think that given how they are caught<br \/>\nand the terror it does bring<br \/>\nTo a culinary masterpiece<br \/>\nwhich this dish purports to be<br \/>\nTo my mind its a waste of life<br \/>\nand could be replaced quite easily.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly there is money to be had here<br \/>\nAnd fishermen and others want to be<br \/>\nEarning big bucks from what they are doing<br \/>\nand criminal gangs are at it, it seems to me<br \/>\n\u00a3200 a kilo in the market place that gets the juices flowing I would say<br \/>\nAnd anyone whose got a boat will take their chance and be afloat<br \/>\nhacking off these fins just any day.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly vegans and vegetarians scorn this<br \/>\nBut people who eat Chicken, Cow and Fish<br \/>\nClearly do not understand the argument<br \/>\nDelicacies of course they do relish<br \/>\nThey do not care to think about the animal<br \/>\nHow its killed, what pain it felt, for they<br \/>\nare only in the restaurant to eat what takes their fancy,<br \/>\nand if it died in agony, its okay<\/p>\n<p>Some places bring a live soul<br \/>\nto the table and cook it, diners watch the creature die,<br \/>\n they hear the creature sizzle,and as its life does fizzle<br \/>\nwhat they hear is the creatures  death bed cry,<br \/>\nsome may be put off by this but others<br \/>\nchoose living animals to eat for they<br \/>\nbelieve its great nutrition I call it sick rendition<br \/>\nmy mission is to end this right away.<\/p>\n<p>But the Chinese and the Vietnamese and others<br \/>\ntheir culinary scope is vast and  really they<br \/>\nCan&#8217;t see what all the fuss is over when those now objecting.<br \/>\nare eating steaks and fish themselves today.<\/p>\n<p>Its wrong to torture animal earthlings everywhere,<br \/>\nIts sick to not accept this to be wrong<br \/>\nWhether the consumer feeds the rumour<br \/>\nall must face the karma who belong<br \/>\nFor its coming there&#8217;s no doubt in my mind honestly<br \/>\nEvery living creature has the right<br \/>\nTo live and not be put to death<br \/>\nin what is abject agony<br \/>\nwhich is the case I regret to say tonight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Perfectly designed, over millions of years yes they Glide effortlessly through the water on any given day They do possess a problem or so it does appear Their fins are made of cartilage which when cooked does remain clear And &hellip;
