Perfectly designed,
\nover millions of years yes they
\nGlide effortlessly through the water
\non any given day
\nThey do possess a problem
\nor so it does appear
\nTheir fins are made of cartilage
\nwhich when cooked does remain clear<\/p>\n
And its become a problem
\nfor it seems the Chinese Race
\nMake a soup out of these fins,
\nI agree its a disgrace
\nBut they do, its down to mouth feel,
\nbitter, sweet and sour,
\nslimy, crunchy all important
\nclearly this is how
\ntheir history pans out
\nover centuries they choose
\nThe fins of shark to which they add chicken
\nbut refuse
\nTo stop consuming sharks fin
\ndespite the methods used
\nof capturing and killing
\nwith this creature so abused.<\/p>\n
Such ignorance a fore thought
\nthey simply hack away
\nat any shark they come across
\nin a vile and nasty way
\nThen throw the creature back
\ninto the ocean minus fins
\nto die of blood loss and of shock
\nJust another of their sins.<\/p>\n
A shark is an apex predator,
\nwith its footprint in the sea
\nof being quite formidable its true most when they see
\nA shark, they do feel nervous about stories that they’ve heard
\nBut a shark retains its prominence
\n and to murder it is absurd.<\/p>\n
Taiwan’s just banned the practice
\nbut hasn’t banned the dish
\nRestaurants serving such a product
\nboycott if you wish
\nPeople have to see that
\nevery creature feels great pain
\nand sharks are very sensitive
\n and undergo great strain
\nIts gelatinous, its not really nice,
\nits a very Chinese thing
\nBut I think that given how they are caught
\nand the terror it does bring
\nTo a culinary masterpiece
\nwhich this dish purports to be
\nTo my mind its a waste of life
\nand could be replaced quite easily.<\/p>\n
Clearly there is money to be had here
\nAnd fishermen and others want to be
\nEarning big bucks from what they are doing
\nand criminal gangs are at it, it seems to me
\n\u00a3200 a kilo in the market place that gets the juices flowing I would say
\nAnd anyone whose got a boat will take their chance and be afloat
\nhacking off these fins just any day.<\/p>\n
Clearly vegans and vegetarians scorn this
\nBut people who eat Chicken, Cow and Fish
\nClearly do not understand the argument
\nDelicacies of course they do relish
\nThey do not care to think about the animal
\nHow its killed, what pain it felt, for they
\nare only in the restaurant to eat what takes their fancy,
\nand if it died in agony, its okay<\/p>\n
Some places bring a live soul
\nto the table and cook it, diners watch the creature die,
\n they hear the creature sizzle,and as its life does fizzle
\nwhat they hear is the creatures death bed cry,
\nsome may be put off by this but others
\nchoose living animals to eat for they
\nbelieve its great nutrition I call it sick rendition
\nmy mission is to end this right away.<\/p>\n
But the Chinese and the Vietnamese and others
\ntheir culinary scope is vast and really they
\nCan’t see what all the fuss is over when those now objecting.
\nare eating steaks and fish themselves today.<\/p>\n
Its wrong to torture animal earthlings everywhere,
\nIts sick to not accept this to be wrong
\nWhether the consumer feeds the rumour
\nall must face the karma who belong
\nFor its coming there’s no doubt in my mind honestly
\nEvery living creature has the right
\nTo live and not be put to death
\nin what is abject agony
