For thousands of years
\nwolves have
\nroamed this earth
\nout in the wilds
\nthey strove
\nand their worth
\nimmense
\ntheir intelligence WAS marvellous
\ntoo
\nthey can sense
\nmany things
\nwhich humans can’t do<\/p>\n

The Delta Pack
\nled by a great pair of souls
\nable to lead
\nfor a leader controls
\nguides, teaches, mentors
\nis practical too
\ncan bring down a buffalo
\nand knows a thing, or two<\/p>\n

can run in a storm
\nand can swim very far
\ncan howl with such form
\nand know’s life for sure
\ncan outstay most animals
\nhe is the one
\nthe Neo of wolves
\nthe boy in the sun<\/p>\n

up against buffalo
\n20 times lighter
\nbut able to prove
\nhe is a great fighter
\nhe’ll run like the devil
\nand bite like as if
\nit was his last bite
\nor it was his first tiff<\/p>\n

up against all those muscles
\nand a head like a plough
\nthe wolf rarely gives up
\nhe’s patient and how
\nhe will come from behind
\nand scatter a herd
\nwound one, and sit back
\nto await the first bird<\/p>\n

he is, up against it
\nwhen seasons do break
\nthe Tar sands are growing
\nhis share of his cake
\nis fast running over
\nhowever remote
\nthe chimneys and pipelines
\nall get in one’s throat.<\/p>\n

the wonderful trees
\nwere torn down and laid
\nwaste and the tar sands
\nand not one blade
\nof grass was left growing
\na wasteland now lies
\nwith its massive machines
\nand its terrible eyes<\/p>\n

scorching the tundra
\nspoiling the air
\nblowing the chemicals
\nnow everywhere
\npoisoning streams
\nkilling us all
\nencroaching on wildness
\nand it does appal<\/p>\n

the wolves will be howling
\nfor centuries more
\nbut not if these tar sands
\nincrease any more
\nkeystone has just got the go ahead and
\nwill run all that filth
\nunderneath the fine land
\nThe Delta Pack knows not
\nbut still knows so much
\nand clearly their children
