Its morally incumbent of officialdom to seek
\nat least an understanding
\nthat isn’t going to reek
\ndispleasure in the Natural World
\nwhatever possibly
\nthough some do feel so strongly
\nthat they have a right to be<\/p>\n
fair which is what I see here
\nin this American affair
\nwhen honestly towards wolves
\nthey are blatantly unfair
\nwhich revolves around the habitat
\nclearly it looks set
\nto be a messy battle
\nneither side seem met<\/p>\n
on a concilitary conclusion
\nthey know not how to see
\nbut wolves are always hesitant
\nits their nature to be free
\nto be guarded in the way they
\nlive and roam the countryside
\nthat I believe is their nature
\nand on that, success does ride<\/p>\n
and though it appears testing
\nthere are friends, out there, who
\nbelieve that wolves deserve a place
\nand will do what they can do
\nthe haters and there are some
\nhave influence and power
\nthey would like to finish off the wolf
\nmake it realise the hour<\/p>\n
was fast approaching when
\nall wolves would surely have been slain
\nright across America
\ntheir blood would soonest drain
\naway and be a memory
\nits the ranchers now who seek
\nthe wildness of the habitat
\nwith cattle at their peak<\/p>\n
this rallying of troops
\nthe hive collection and the rest
\nwill intensify which is now why
\nwhat I think is best
\nis those of us who care
\nwho really care for wolves must try
\nto lobby, write petitions
\nand not give up, its why<\/p>\n
some of us have that feeling
\nthat the wolf must stay around
\ncreation deems him paramount
\nat least that is the sound
\nI hear above the raucous cries
\nthose people who exclaim
\nthe wolf has had its day
\nthe wolf’s the one we blame<\/p>\n
but prejudice can lead to conflict
\nthat is when the meek
\nnot absolute but in this context
\nthe minority may seek
\nthe suffering of the wolves
\nfor they are never really free
\nalways on the look out
\nears pricked,for man, for he
\nis now their greatest enemy
\nhis presence really key<\/p>\n
key to their survival
\nthey must feel this for they
\nhave been put down
\nfor all of time
\nand they cannot get away
\nfrom the prejudice and hatred
\nthat follows them about
\nsome clearly have respect
\nfor them
\nand some have lots of doubt<\/p>\n
and some are really anti
\nand clearly the wolves know
\nyou don’t live in the wild world
\nand not realise, and so
\nthere exists this kind of stand off
\nthe wolves have to survive
\nagainst a powerful enemy
\nwho seemingly would strive<\/p>\n
to see their end
\nand legislature appears to follow suit
\nthe profit and the ranchers
\nfears are at the root
\nand many seem recalcitrant
\nthey go back on their word
\nthe old rock and the hard place
\nand the heart feels stirred<\/p>\n
but wolves have seen this all before
\neach crisis seemingly
\nthey have overcome and
\nwill again because it has to be
\nthey are, who they are
\nand to just destroy them
\nwould be wrong
\nand the Universe will be clearly
\nwatching its wild throng
\nthere’s a vastness and much meaning to existence
\nin the wild
\nand the wolves are an integral part
