The birth of baby elephants
\nheralds a new dawn
\nfor so many souls are dying
\ntheir ivory
\nis torn
\nand hacked then off their bodies
\nby the ruffians who come
\nwho shoot our babies in cold blood
\nand bang the loudest drum<\/p>\n
we must hope, that there are people
\nwho will nurture them and see
\nthey grow up to be parents too
\ncherished constantly
\nwe have to hope
\nthat Ivory is passed its sell by date
\nit comes with so much agony
\nand actually isn’t great<\/p>\n
we have to put this out to people
\nall around the world
\ntusks are what an elephant uses
\nand they’re curled
\nupwards tools not materials
\nto carve into some thing
\nwhich costs not only an arm and leg
\nbut a life too
\nand does bring<\/p>\n
terror down upon the land
\nwhen these rough necks
\nstrike a herd
\nThe Elephant should be sacred
\nfor in essence its absurd
\nto see these huge amazing souls
\nslaughtered as they are
\nits poignant and its terrible
\nnow let us see the star<\/p>\n
A tiny little baby
\nperfect in every way
\nWho has to be protected
