Those of you who leave your vile
\ncontraptions hidden in our countryside
\nlack thought
\n;lack knowledge
\nyou are arrogant and ignorant
\nand in your torrid emotions
\nyou are caught
\nwhatever you are after
\nlocking snares have all been banned
\nand setting this one on or near
\na fence, let’s understand
\nanything could have walked
\ninto this and so today
\nwe heard it was a vixen
\nand it broke her back
\nto pay
\nfor walking in one’s countryside
\nin a place where you were born
\nis a ghastly thing to happen
\nand I treat it with such scorn
\nthe mother clearly worried
\nfor her cubs
\nno one knows where
\nbut clearly waiting for her
\nunknowing of her despair
\nthe injuries were terrible
\nshe couldn’t have got far
\nshe tried to chew the snare away
\nher mouth and gums did scar
\nshe broke well almost all her teeth
\nher desperation too
\nfree her self and save her cubs
\nsomething she could’t do
\nimagine how she felt about that
\nsituation, she
\nclearly would have crawled
\nto where they were if she was free
\nbut when rescuers released her
\nshe passed out she was gone
\nand the cubs will probably perish too
\nin their earth somewhere upon
\nwherever
\nbut the trapper he knows who he was
\nhe knows what he was after
\nand now alas because
\nit is tragic story
\nwe feel great tears of woe
\nand hope that karma catches
\nup with the trapper
