Since 1289 this majestic castle
\nHas stood feeling strong as can be
\n950 tireless brave workman
\nPiled stone upon stone
\nNear the sea
\nImagine the weight of these boulders
\nWith Some kind of scaffolding they
\nBuilt up these battlements sturdy and strong
\nAnd no doubt the threat of the sea
\nKING Edward 1st had commissioned it
\nTo protect from the wind and the waves
\nJames St George the architect
\nWho
\nWith his vast expertise designed good and true
\nIt stands here today
\nAs majestic as ever
\nWalls within walls
\nA splendid endeavour <\/p>\n
Today was St David\u2019s day
\nNo admittance fee
\nI went along
\nWith my friends
\nThey took me
\nThe wind off the sea
\nReally tested my gait
\nIt was exciting
\nA castle to rate<\/p>\n
When built it cost eight thousands pounds
\nAnd a bit
\nHarlech has an aura
\nFor me it did sit
\nWell in my thoughts
\nA nice little place
\nA good range of shops
\nA township of Grace<\/p>\n
Some interesting stone buildings
\nThe steepest made up road
\nWe went down it slowly
\nClearly it showed
\nItself to be needing
\nA very low gear
\nThe sharp bends concerning
\nYes, that was clear<\/p>\n
From Dolgellau to Harlech
\nOn the Barmouth Road
\nFollowing the estuary
\nIt just does bode
\nWell for the traveller
\nThe landscape around
\nWhere it all meets the sea
\nThat\u2019s what I found <\/p>\n
Through various places
\nWith differing stone
\nHouses and cottages
\nTime clearly shown
\nA weathering surely
\nBut picturesque too
\nIt\u2019s a glorious ride out
\nWith, an enchanting view<\/p>\n
My neighbours Laura and Hari And Dewi
\nThey shower me with welcoming
\nAnd I am very
\nHappy to be out seeing the sights
\nJoining. Their family
\nReally at the heights
\nOf joyousness I be old now and they
\nTreat me like family
\nIn a lovely Welsh way<\/p>\n
