\nEighty over years ago
\nA famous man a politician
\nTook on Hitler in a show
\nThe people of these islands were
\nUnder the German hun
\nAnd they were very grateful
\nfor what this man had done<\/p>\n
He stood and faced the enemy
\nThe wrongdoers whose war
\nWas bombing us almost every day
\nYes hooligans at our door
\nChurchill yes he took the lead
\nHis voice his stature and his power
\nTook on the might of the Germans
\nA comfort every hour
\nHis courage and commitment
\nHis verbal communication
\nHe rallied folk to show courageously
\nThus creating our salvation<\/p>\n
Today we hear malignancy
\nAnd rancour seemingly
\nA statue erected in Churchill\u2019s honour
\nVandalised it be
\nDisrespected our wartime leader
\nA surfacing illegitimacy
\nInjurious and unforgivable
\nOne-sidedness it feels to me <\/p>\n
Disrespecting our parents wishes
\nThose of us who were alive
\nChildren in the throes of evil
\nWith his help we did survive
\nMoral fibre he enhanced it
\nHis sense of responsibility
\nTo see his memory disgraced and spoiled
\nIs inglorious and questionably<\/p>\n
