In 193o a black retriever
\nThey named him Swansea Jack
\nA kindly helpful canine
\nAnd something he didn\u2019t lack
\nWas leaping into the water
\nWhen anybody fell
\nAnd was drowning
\nJack would plunge into the water
\nI hear tell<\/p>\n
In six years he saved 27
\nHuman beings who
\nWould have drowned amazingly
\nIn Swansea it was true
\nHe died in 1937
\nA valiant beast was he
\nAnd they made a bronze memorial
\nTo him upon the quay<\/p>\n
Sadly he died of eating
\nRat poison on the street
\nA hero who died so painfully
\nA victim of poisoned meat
\nSo very sad that human beings
\nInconsiderately ended the life
\nOf a Swansea Jack
