A visit from Africa
\nWho comes back eVery year
\nTwo toes forward
\nTwo toes backward
\nIt is very clear<\/p>\n
They own a dedication
\nTo flight and all it holds
\nLong pointed wings
\nShort fork tails
\nA high pitched scream
\nThat never fails<\/p>\n
To frighten people
\nBecoming rare
\nOn the red list
\nThus we should care
\nIn April and May they all arrive
\nAnd in August they leave
\nIt\u2019s too survive<\/p>\n
They come to mate
\nAnd for life they pair
\nTo established nests
\nOn houses where
\nHuman beings frequent, they
\nCan participate in a friendly way<\/p>\n
Bu having Swift boxes
\nFixed to our walls
\nready for when the
\nVisitor calls.<\/p>\n
They eat flying insects
\nAnd spiders too
\nTheir ability to fly
\nIt\u2019s true
\nIs remarkable
\nThese
\nOpodidae
\nMissed my me
\nWhen they deem To fly <\/p>\n
away
\nImagine the journey
\nVia France
\nAll the way to Africa
\nAnd not by chance
\nSuch a journey
\nThe strength they need
\nTo commit and return
\nTo mate and feed.<\/p>\n

\nOne toe backwards
\nPerching or song birds.<\/p>\n
