It was once the scene of massive

\nHigh up here
\nSeventy eight long years
\nSince closure
\nIt isn\u2019t really clear
\nWhen coming upon

It all had been abandoned
\nAnd slowly finds its way

\nHave established a bright lake
\nHow trees and plants and wild life
\nHave returned quietly to make<\/p>\n
An area so beautiful
\nAs beautiful as before
\nThe relics left in situ
\nNo one can ignore

\nThe remnants everywhere
\nThe dry stone structures
\nCrumbling for
\nit\u2019s wild life now who share<\/p>\n
The peacefulness of the mountains
\nA scenic magic so
\nWhere wildness is reclaiming
\nIt\u2019s place
\nWhere lichens grow
\nLiver worts and ancient plants
\nQuietly doing their thing
\nWoodlands are encroaching
\nTheir magic now they bring<\/p>\n
The birches first to want to grow
\nEstablishing a hold
\nAttracting wild life
\nMore and more
\nAs wind and rain have rolled
\nOver the environment
\nIn this ancient air
\nGiants from neolithic times
\nAnywhere else are rare<\/p>\n
A peace of mind you feel it
\nThe solace of the sight
\nCeltic temperate forests
\nArrive they just alight
\nStruggling into life here
\nWindswept rained on they
\nadd to the wondrous setting
\nThat we all see here today<\/p>\n
Tawny owls and Falcons
\nQuietly flit and fly
\nUp here in this amazing place
\nVery very high
\nThe few who come to witness
\nHow it would have been
\nAnd how nature is taking back
\nAnd giving us the green<\/p>\n
Carbon capture is coming
\nA sense of proportion here
\nWales has kept it as it was
\nWhich honestly should cheer
\nThose of us who live around
