As FERN impacts the United States
\nAnimals being shipped around
\nCrammed into big open trucks
\nWith no protection, being drowned
\nIn inclement weather in ice and snow
\nBrutal winds that surely blow
\nLeft to endure to writhe in pain
\nWith nobody caring, it is insane<\/p>\n
Inadequate standards currently
\nAnd rarely enforced it feels to me
\nAccountability There is a need
\nReducing suffering let\u2019s succeed
\nThe 28 hour law seemingly
\nIs on the books but apparently
\nThere are few sightings
\nAnd lesser still
\nenforcement notices
\nSo the spill
\nOf blood and guts
\nAnd agony
\nCarries on unfortunately<\/p>\n
The DOT and USDA
\nNeed to wake up fast
\nUse the brains they were given
\nAnd really begin to blast
\nThe human transport of farmed animals
\nHas to be put in place
\nLaws are meant to protect these souls
\nNot create a vile disgrace<\/p>\n
America be caring
\nThoughtful in the way
\nAnimals are looked after
\nIn the cold light of the day
\nGoing to their deaths they be
\nAnd tortured on the road
\nShivering freezing suffering
\nWhere\u2019s the caring code<\/p>\n
Mercy for Animals, wonderful work
\nOpening many eyes
\nThe tears of animals
\nAre tears like ours
\nWhere are you some Are wise
\nTo all this ugly suffering
\nMeat eating is your treat
\nSo wake up and care for the animals there
\nThose dear souls that you eat<\/p>\n
Look closely at these animals
\nAs they reach the place
\nWhere they will be murdered
\nLook into each face
\nEyes clogged full of genuine tears
\nHeart aches everywhere
\naching for some sunlight
