{"id":70620,"date":"2025-12-30T17:53:46","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T17:53:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=70620"},"modified":"2025-12-30T18:12:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T18:12:08","slug":"tea-drinking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2025\/12\/tea-drinking\/","title":{"rendered":"Tea drinking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain a nation of tea drinking, seemingly<br \/>\nBuying from super stores<br \/>\nMostly  these days<br \/>\nWhole leaf apparently<br \/>\nHas gone  out the window<br \/>\nIt\u2019s fannings and  tea dust<br \/>\nThat most people see<br \/>\nIt\u2019s all about profit<br \/>\nAnd making the margin<br \/>\nIt\u2019s all about tea bags<br \/>\nAnd colour and taste<br \/>\nRemembering how tea was<br \/>\nFirst drunk, it\u2019s awful<br \/>\nHot water and tea leaves<br \/>\nA Flavoursome brew<br \/>\nNow supermarkets  are<br \/>\nPushing out garbage<br \/>\nIt\u2019s all about price<br \/>\nAlas that is true<\/p>\n<p>All the main brands<br \/>\nAre increasing the fannings<br \/>\nOnly the specialist brewing<br \/>\nWe see<br \/>\nWhole  leaf and plastic free tea bags<br \/>\nIt\u2019s sad<br \/>\nBut this is whatsvhappening<br \/>\nApparently<\/p>\n<p>Tea gardens use some really<br \/>\nBad chemicals pesticide residues<br \/>\nThey can be high<br \/>\nPFA\u2019s in tea bags plastics alas<br \/>\nIt\u2019s all about margins<br \/>\nI ask myself why<\/p>\n<p>People allow  themselves<br \/>\nTo be mistreated<br \/>\nYes down to price<br \/>\nAnd each cuppa alas<br \/>\nIs serving up crap in a cup<br \/>\nIf you ask me<br \/>\nAnd truthfully now<br \/>\nThis happens en masse<\/p>\n<p>Biodynamics is out there<br \/>\nDarjeeling teas<br \/>\nSilver tips and the rest<br \/>\nBeautiful safe growing<br \/>\nSurrounded by jungle<br \/>\nSteiner\u2019s true principles<br \/>\nNature intact<br \/>\nHerbals and whole leaves<br \/>\nNeem trees and wild flowers<br \/>\nAnd organic pasture<br \/>\nAn honourable fact<\/p>\n<p>Pay a bit more<br \/>\nFor a true tea a specialist<br \/>\nWho care for their soil<br \/>\nAnd the workers who be<br \/>\nAlive to the fact<br \/>\nThat it\u2019s a wonderful world<br \/>\nWhere natures abounds<br \/>\nAnd organically<br \/>\nGrown to really the highest sod standards<br \/>\nWorth every penny<br \/>\nWorth every cent<br \/>\nHonestly  folks<\/p>\n<p>From Hampstead and Makaibari<\/p>\n<p>Having visited and stayed there I saw with my own eyes<br \/>\nThat so many of the plantations are very poorly<br \/>\nLooked after rubbish is dumped on them<br \/>\nThe jungle has gone and chemicals are the mainstay<br \/>\nOf production<br \/>\nNeem trees grow wild but have been chopped down wild flowers grow in abundance but have been pulled up <\/p>\n<p>Biodynamics is a paradise of true nature butterflies and birds in abundance <\/p>\n<p>The workforce are taken advantage of they follow the biodynamic principles to a tee<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Britain a nation of tea drinking, seemingly Buying from super stores Mostly these days Whole leaf apparently Has gone out the window It\u2019s fannings and tea dust That most people see It\u2019s all about profit And making the margin It\u2019s &hellip;
