The first people knew the wolf
\nlike no one else has known the wolf
\nrespect both ways was evident
\nas they
\nclearly killed each other
\nat some point I expect
\nbut both have lived to fight
\nanother day
\nthe wild soul and the first soul
\nthey lived yes side by side
\ndrank the water
\nate the flesh
\nran the wind
\nand denied
\nno one they were people
\nwho lived in the wilderness
\nswam the rivers
\nwild they were
\nthey knew each others stress
\nbut now the white man
\nwhat does he know
\ndrives his four by four
\nliving in a house somewhere
\nwith heating in his floor
\neating from his freezer
\nand from the superstore
\nto hunting catching picking fishing
\nno not any more
\nthat builds a great respect
\nthe outcome clearly bright
\nno one kills more that they need to eat
\nthe balance right
\nthis is Nature’s way
\nbut man alas is his own fool
\nhe will go out a shooting
