The help that we are giving wolves
\nthese days alas
\nis help they all could do without
\nour concentrations crass
\nthe rancher has the belly laugh
\nfor he has grasped the power
\nand we have given into him
\nand boy now does he tower
\nabove us and above our wild friends
\nborn where they do roam
\nthey have nothing left for them
\nits certainly not their home
\nits more wild and open place
\nfor the hunters to come by
\nan ambush all our precious
\nwolves as they, well just try
\nand live a life akin to
\nnaturalness and they
\nare being shot to pieces
\nlost now everyday<\/p>\n
Yes we can fight for the wolves
\nand all the others
\nand buy our T bones at the superstore
\nwe can sign petitions till our hands ache
\nand eat our beef wellington’s galore
\nand all this time we are handing
\npower to ranchers
\nthe CAFO’s, the great corporates now are there
\nspilling blood like crazy in the death camps
\nand making wolves and the first people share
\nthe ugly vile ambitions that in a few years
\nat this rate wolves will be no more, all gone
\neverything will suffer
\nas our own lives get tougher
\nlife as we now know will not go on<\/p>\n
some super state, some vast enclave
\nwill take its place
\nthe wild lands will be fracked
\nand turned to sludge
\ntar sands nuclear waste and vile pollution
\nwill be out there
\nthat’s if I judge
\nthe situation as it stands at the moment
\nthe great experiment called energy
\nnatural gas and oil is what they’re after
\nand the only wildness left is going to be<\/p>\n
some renegades some animal rights
\nsome bands of human foresters
\nwho scoffed at slavery and ran away
\nwolves and all the others
\nthey are rotting in the sod
\nwhich all of us do some day
\non our death beds we may feel frustrated
\nelated, then sedated who knows how
