Its hard to watch people
\nemotional people
\nwho cry and bring on
\nour tears to for we know
\nElephants have such a horrid
\nexistence
\nshipped overseas
\nto the big circus show
\nbeaten and made to do
\ntricks for the trainer
\nno brainer
\nfor me
\nits not what Ele’s do
\nthey proudly march forward
\nacross miles of country
\nsearching for water
\ntheir widened view
\nof existence is where
\nthey were born
\nin that moment
\nbecame what they are
\nand in that mode they stay
\nforaging, loving their immediate family
\nthat was their purpose
\nthat is their way<\/p>\n
so being alone and
\nstuck in some circus
\nshipped about daily
\nwalking on concrete
\nbreathing in fumes
\nshouted at regularly
\ntethered and chained
\nlife isn’t complete
\nthey must re adapt
\nto the changes around them
\nfreedom was sacrificed
\nthey after all
\nare slaves to the man
\nin the silk suit and top hat
\nthis is the new life
\nthe callers did call<\/p>\n
Shirley and Jenny
\nfor 25 years
\nthey have both been apart
\nand what will they do
\nhumans can never predict how an Ele
\nits heart its emotion
\nall clearly true
\ntheir memories though
\nare the constant reminder
\nfriends from the past
\nthey will never forget
\nand seeing and feeling
\nyou see how revealing
\nit is when re union
\ncomes and we let<\/p>\n
two elephants meet up
\nJenny and Shirley
\nand watch them
\nand hear them
\nthe trumpeting sounds
\nthe rumbles the tumbles
\nthe ecstatic joyfulness
\nit comes to the fore
\nand all else it drowns
\nlove and devotion
\nthe whole true commotion
\nhugging as elephants do
\nall can feel
\nand anyone watching
\nor reading this poem
\nmust realise all earthlings
\neveryone of them
\ndeep in their heart
