Innocent blood
\nSoaked the hellish of mortars

\nThe valiant glow
\nPrayers lifting skyward
\nThat seemed a by word

\nThat traversed a planet

\nThats what we saw
\nIt was beamed round the world
\nTerrorist insult
\nThe new kamikaze
\nSuch dire circumstances
\nIn this we were hurled
\nWe watched the firefighters
\nUnflinchingly sacred
\nThey gave their lives too
\nTo save others this day
\nSaw the world come together
\nJust chilled to the marrow
\nIn this maelstrom of feeling

\nAnd I cry in my heart
\nFor the souls that already
\nMust search for a heaven
