Several decades ago
\nIn the woods whilst a walking
\nI was able to take a cutting
\nBecause
\nIn a clockwise manner
\nIt apparently was growing
\nSucceeding in being
\nUnbelievably knowing<\/p>\n
Of all things
\nOf light, of the dark
\nAnd surroundings
\nA climber of hedgerows
\nScented and sweet
\nBees seemed attracted
\nTo this deciduous windflower
\nAs they kind of got closer
\nIt, seemed to greet<\/p>\n
Some magic, one supposes
\nAnd the cutting was planted
\nBack at her home
\nAnd it relished it\u2019s move
\nAlong the fence like a vine
\nIt established
\nIt\u2019s presence so beautifully
\nClearly a sign<\/p>\n
It continued its progression
\nWith each passing session
\nBudding and flowering
\nAnd tempting the Bees
\nSwarmed by the others
\nThe true pollinators
\nSurely in months to come
\nIt\u2019s flowers would please<\/p>\n
Then one day, the neighbours
\nStarted pulling up the plantings
\nMoving their edge of the garden around
\nPulling out roots and the true steadfast
\nGreenery
\nAnd leaving many broken bits there on the ground
\nDidn\u2019t show care for the long winding suckle
\nCut back and poisoned
\nIgnorance they
\nJust left the remnants toxic and broken
\nAnd there it did lay at the end of a day<\/p>\n
Why do folk do this? arrogance blisteringly
\nAlters the custom and breaks off the flow
\nAll of the many years, of wilding nurture
\nThrown out and broken unrewarded we know
\nIn the new house a wood sprung and caring
\nChestnuts and beech trees and a wealth of Ivy
\nBirdsong and butterflies
\nA Murder of crows
\nThe odd owl proclaiming
\nAnd a small cloud of blackbirds
\nBeautiful melodies
\nBeginning To pose<\/p>\n
The sweet honey suckle
\nDepicting a colour
\nA faery like wonderful majestic hue
\nAt the drop of each day
\nA deciduous entrant
\nExclusively mobile
\nWith scent of sublimity
\nAlong the way.
\nThe nature of wildness
\nBonded and glorious
\nTasting the composted
\nGround with much glee
\nJoining the faeries their ultimate aura
\nAs shape shifting garlands
