Since the dawning of time
\nThe aboriginies knew
\nWhat they had was their life
\nhonoured gift
\nThey had discipline and an innate
\nlove of oneness
\nWhich truthfully gave them the lift
\nThey lived in the moment
\nproud and responsible
\nThey were connected and free
\nSpirituality, Family and Land
\nTheir beliefs were the essence, the key
\nTo their being, all seeing
\nthey had the confidence
\nTheir purpose of life was to be
\nCaring and sharing and knowing exactly
\nThey knew and of course they could see
\nIt was perfection they realized that
\nThere were no improvments to make
\nThey had evolved and in spirit had solved
\nEverything for their own sake<\/p>\n
Then the white man arrived
\nHis arrogant wave of prejudice
\nwashed through the land
\nIt gripped them, it forced them
\nto be like the white man
\nof course they did not understand
\nTheir culture was torn away
\nLanguage and all
\nThey were murdered
\nand their children stolen
\nthe gall ,it shattered a proud
\npeople striving to be
\nWhat they had always been
\nwonderfully free
\nThe white man had everything
\nall that they wished for
\nWe on the other hand had to conform
\nLive in their boxes with wire fences
\nhigh
\nWe were imprisoned
\nalone in the storm
\nLost in the darkness
\ncans of coke everywhere
\nsniff petrol and hope
\nthat our life of despair
\nWould end realizing
\nwe couldn’t go back to
\nThe bush any more
\nto the land thats was ours
\nFor the white man had stolen it
\nAnd left us wanting
\nOn ugly waste ground
\nThere they did house
\nUs far away from the wonderful
\nsettlements, swimming pools
\nall the mod cons of the age
\nWe just existed in\u00a0 dustbowls
