Living in England<\/p>\n
oft we see<\/p>\n
birds on the wing, excitedly<\/p>\n
big white swans on<\/p>\n
canals and rivers<\/p>\n
the Mute \u00a0a resident<\/p>\n
we often see<\/p>\n
they hiss and snort<\/p>\n
that\u2019s \u00a0some retort<\/p>\n
when they are \u00a0a bit angry<\/p>\n
they let us know<\/p>\n
they belong \u00a0to the monarch<\/p>\n
Now to the King<\/p>\n
then \u00a0there\u2019s the Herons<\/p>\n
That surely bring<\/p>\n
long legs and neck<\/p>\n
at the fishery<\/p>\n
suddenly there<\/p>\n
at the waters edge<\/p>\n
for a fish or two<\/p>\n
i do allege<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the Canada Goose<\/p>\n
who cackles away<\/p>\n
On parkland lakes<\/p>\n
can be seen today<\/p>\n
Hanging with Wigeons Mallards and Teal<\/p>\n
Ducks a plenty<\/p>\n
All \u00a0very real.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My most recent favourite the Red Kite<\/p>\n
hovers and glides<\/p>\n
At a healthy height<\/p>\n
enjoy the carrionAnd insects too<\/p>\n
Small mammals and birds<\/p>\n
goodly and true<\/p>\n
Milvus \u00a0milvus \u00a0a splendid \u00a0bird<\/p>\n
Around and around<\/p>\n
it has occurred<\/p>\n
most recently<\/p>\n
and I have to say<\/p>\n
sweet on the wing<\/p>\n
in a wondrous way.<\/p>\n
