High up in the Andes<\/p>\n
calderas everywhere<\/p>\n
wonderful volcanoes<\/p>\n
and clean sweet \u00a0mountain air<\/p>\n
coming back one night
\nthe air freezing everywhere<\/p>\n
found a couple of ladies<\/p>\n
hoping they could share<\/p>\n
our van both of them freezing<\/p>\n
they sat beside us they<\/p>\n
felt our much warmer bodies<\/p>\n
heated I can say<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A daughter with her mother<\/p>\n
both sat by my side<\/p>\n
i warmed them felt their shivering<\/p>\n
so cold but they denied<\/p>\n
everything they left soon<\/p>\n
and tragic I found the old lady<\/p>\n
died the next day<\/p>\n
staring at the moon<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
laid out in her heavenly bed<\/p>\n
wrapped in blankets she<\/p>\n
Would have her final send off<\/p>\n
i was with her so sadly<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The \u00a0next day was invited to the wake<\/p>\n
and we sent her off to Heaven<\/p>\n
lets her soul fly free<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the Andes is a cold affair<\/p>\n
a rocky \u00a0mountainous scene<\/p>\n
the village about 40 homes<\/p>\n
having lost her dud demean<\/p>\n
the atmosphere around a bouts<\/p>\n
a sadness everywhere<\/p>\n
to feel her close<\/p>\n
and shivering<\/p>\n
sharing the despair<\/p>\n
clad in her best clobber<\/p>\n
missing her was I<\/p>\n
already having tried to warm her up<\/p>\n
i did so try<\/p>\n
she held me her weak hands did shake<\/p>\n
close to me she was<\/p>\n
she kissed me when she left<\/p>\n
I think that\u2019s because<\/p>\n
i wanted her to sit inside<\/p>\n
not leave \u00a0them in the back<\/p>\n
frost and snow<\/p>\n
no place to go<\/p>\n
looking to the sky so black<\/p>\n
No stars \u00a0nothing did twinkle<\/p>\n
I watched her to her door<\/p>\n
bent almost to double<\/p>\n
her spirit lost for sure<\/p>\n
